Boxers as well as other breeds of dogs with short ears for esthetic purposes, are never born that way. Sorry, you'll just have to fork out the bucks to have those ears cropped and have your dog decent looking.

ummmm no you would have a vet do that. and most vets nowadays refuse to do it. the surgery is very painful and it takes forever to heal, and they are always infected, which could cause the ears to take on a funny cauliflower shape after they heal. the ears are full of blood vessels, too, so the dogs lose alot of blood during the surgery, which takes awhile to recover from. why don't you like the floppy ears? it's natural and better for them. most dogs like that (boxers, dobermans, minpins) have the floppy ears for a reason-- the type of work the breeds were bred to do involves lots of dirt and water, and the floppy ears keeps all the debris from going in the ears and causing infections. if you get them cropped, the ears have no defenses and the dog will constantly have ear infections.

No dog is born with the shape of ears that cropping creates. It's a cruel and very painful proceedure, that is why it is out lawed in most countries. Personally, I think boxers look much cuter with their natural floppy ears.

You need to get them cropped. I know a way that might work but I'm not entirely sure. Take two paper cups. Call your dog over and use some tape (strong tape) tape the paper cups to your dog and leave them on for a few months (4-7 works) then take them off. The reason I think that works is because your dog's ears adjust to the cups and grow up and they will keep growing like that. I am only 50% sure that it works and still recommend a vet for cropping their ears.

putting paper cups on a puppies ears does not work! and their is one dog that has the natural looking cropped ears and that is the boston terrier, they are born with floppy ears, but as they grow the ears muscels get stronger and they stand up. otherwise, you have to take them to the vet to get this procedure done.

No. They are all born with wonderful floppy ears :)
If they are pricked it is because someone had their vet cut them off :(

No, their ears are naturally floppy - they get cropped and are bandaged up when they are puppies - it is quite painful for them. Our brindle had cropped ears when we got him, and he's always had a problem with ear infections.
