Well, I felt the need to join for the sake of my child. Also a church or synagogue helps put life cycle events into prespective and give them meaning. In the case of illness or death, the support of church and synagogue members as well as clergy helps one to get through these tough times. We dont understand bad things and need to find some sort of understanding through belonging to a religious organization. They are social clubs of sorts.

Grace is the ultimate reason as there are no accidents. I went to church in my Mom's arms as a baby and willingly went on my own as I got older. I'm so thankful for it. So, spiritual conviction, personal growth, love of the LORD and obedience to His Holy scriptures which tell me not to forsake gathering together in fellowship and in His name which takes place at CHURCH or church functions, even if its just a friend's home. Also, I need the prayers of other believers and they need mine. Lastly there is something called "catching the fire," which basically allows you to be encouraged and inspired by the spiritual excitement or zeal of others: nothing freaky or cultish, of course, just an uplifting move of the Holy Spirit of God.

I joined the church I am in because the whole body is full of the Holy Spirit. You can feel the love by walking in the building where we meet. You see the church is not the building , it is the body of believers that Jesus Christ was here and paid the price for our sins. ASnd it is not just from our little group it is all believers. The church is also called the bride waiting for the bridegroom (Jesus).

Joining a church is little different from joining any type of club or organization. Join because you have something in common with the group, that you're willing to give of your time to the group, and that you 'care' about the group.

Certainly all of your choices play into it. Ask the same question about the Boy Scouts or Lions club.

The Bible says to not forsake the assembling of ourselves together. The purpose of church or synagogue is to teach, encourage, pray, worship and fellowship with fellow believers. It is about growing stronger through exposure to the study of the Word of God.

You do not join the Church of Christ. You are added by the Lord.

Acts2:47
Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the LORD added to THE CHURCH daily such as SHOULD be saved.

Church is a place where my faith is strengthened as faith comes by hearing the Word. Our service is liturgical, which means that we hear Scripture from beginning - middle - and end.

The Sacraments are also present which are also faith strengtheners in that they have the power to forgive sin and bring us closer to God as with the Lord's Supper, God is truely present in this Holy Meal.

I also go for the communion of saint. Those who share the same faith and are concerned with our welfare help strengthen me in my faith as well.

Church is there to build up the Christian.

Because God told us He wanted us to come together and worship Him in Church.

Numbers 10:3 And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

It can be all or any of these answers. However, you forgot the most important reason, the one reason that anyone joins a religious community, and that is because they are brainwashed into it.
