Unbelievable really - considering what lack of tools he had, it's amazing what creations were formed by his skill.

I think his best artwork is his sculpture of Moses... It shows such raw emotion...

Great artist, painter and sculptor. If you ever go to Italy, see Michelangelo's Pieta and David, but if you want to be amazed by his artistry go to the Church San Pietro in Vincoli (near the Colusseum) and look at Moses.

I liked his attitude to sculpture.
"I just chisel away the bits from the marble that I don't need . .and there is the statue fully formed"
