Its not Biblical. Only Jesus was born of the virgin not the rest of His brothers and sisters.

There are 2 substantial motives that Protestants do no longer believe that Mary remained a virgin. First -- the biggest justification for the Catholic perception is using a passage interior the Bible the place Mary is aggravating approximately being married -- because of the fact she took a vow of virginity. Catholics believe that if Mary took a vow to god, she might save it -- so might desire to stay a virgin for her finished existence. Why do no longer Protestants believe this? because of the fact it truly is in between the books of the Bible that Martin Luther desperate does no longer belong. maximum Protestants use his version of the Bible. 2nd -- maximum Protestants who believe this are English audio device and use the King James version. In it, it says that Joseph did no longer have kin with Mary till the delivery of Jesus (or something like that). someplace else Jesus refers to three human beings as his Brothers. inspite of the undeniable fact that, the two a style of statements come from undesirable translations. the unique greek be conscious does no longer have the comparable connotation because of the fact the be conscious 'till' -- and there is no implication that Joseph had intercourse with Mary after the delivery of Jesus. further, the be conscious that the translators of the KJV says is "brother" certainly basically potential "close relation" and could be utilized to show cousins.

No Protestants believe in the perpetual virginity of Mary!

Catholics have made Mary into an idol and that is offensive to God.

Read the Bible. I mean really read it. Start at Genesis and work you way through to Revelation. The Scripture itself does not say very much about Mary (I am referring to both Catholic and Protestant translations). However it does mention her OTHER children, Jesus' brothers and sisters. So to speak of Mary as a perpetual virgin you have to call God a LIAR.

The first time I read the Bible from cover-to-cover I was so amazed that the things that people talk about as coming from the Bible ARE NOT in it!! But people aren't all that interested in what IS actually there.

The first time I read the whole Bible I found it to be SO good that I could not put it down! I read The Daily Walk Bible which is broken down into daily readings so you can read it in one year but I read it in 90 days.

Now I read the whole Bible every year and it gets beter and better!

Of course we have a lot of respect for Mary, that she was counted as the most blessed among all women, that she was willing to obey and do God's will - even if it costed her her life, reputation and dignity. I also personally believe and do not doubt that God can use a virgin like Mary to give birth to Jesus.

But perpetual virginity? If I'm not mistaken, she also had other children fathered by Joseph her husband later on after the birth of Jesus, so is Mary's perpetual virginity really possible in the physical sense (after the birth of Jesus Christ)?

If you've any reliable sources to document this, please let me know.. Please be very careful not to be given into such false teachings / theories that have no purpose to glorify God Himself. Such teachings have other intentions - making Mary to be worshipped even more, when it shouldn't be so. Only God alone deserves to be worshipped.

All the best!

Because we have no Biblical support of this claim. We end up reading between the lines to find this doctrine which is something we ought never do lest we come to an incorrect conclusion and sin.

Why is it that Catholics (and some Lutherans) hold on to this doctrine so tightly when it has no significance to the saving work of Jesus?

Who are Luther and Calvin? Regardless just because they believd it doesn't make it so..
She was only a virgin until Jesus was born..
Did you think that she NEVER had sex? She was married! Most married people do.

God the Father sent His ONLY Son into the world.. so all her other kids were of natural affection.

".....When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him: he took his wife, but knew her not until she had given birth to a son. And he called his name Jesus." (Matthew 1:24-25)
My dear that really maters is not (the perpetual or temporal virginity of MARY, ), it is about salvation (eternal life in heaven) that you can get believing in JESUS CHRIST as your savior

let me ask you a question, why you don't care when we say that JESUS has brothers and sisters being a GOD SON?

The Angel of God asked Joseph not to know Mary until the birth of Jesus only. Thereafter she need not remain virgin and if she did, it is her fault.

Well if Mary can do it, I can. I'm 66 years old, been married four times and working on a fifth (pun intended) and I'm STILL A VIRGIN!

Amen brothers and sisters.

They are not following the word of God.

Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Not everyone who claims to know and obey God actually does.
