Cubic meter: "This is the volume of a cube 1 meter on each side. One cubic meter = 1000 liters."

i believe one liter is = to 1000 cubic centemeters,,10 x 10 x 10. a cubic meter is 100 x 100 x 100 CCs = 1,000,000 cubic centmeters. 1,000,000 / 1,000 = 1000. 1000 cubic liters per cubic meter.

1 milliliter = 1/1000 liter = 1 cubic centimeter
so 1 liter = 1000 cc
1 meter = 100 cm
1 cubic meter = 100 cm cubed = 1,000,000 cc
so 1 liter - 1/1000 cubic meter

1 ltr = 1dm3 or the 1000th part of a cubic meter
in order to make a cube of 1 mtr by 1 mtr by 1 mtr, you would need 10 dm per 10 dm per 10 dm or 10 cube (1000)
so to convert liters to cubic meters you just need to multiply the qty of meters3 you want per 1000, and you will have the qty of liters.
