Pippins trainer was interviewed as saying that she was a rescue, and nobody know her breeding for sure but she is believed to be a Bearded Collie cross.
Bearded Collies don't make great pets, so please don't rush out and buy a look alike without learning how to train a very active dog.

Pippin is like a curly coated retriever-terrier. He has a very different temperment to his friends frodo and sam though. Sam is a golden lab i think, frodo is like some kind of mongrel, im not sure. Gandalf is an old english sheepdog, in case you were wondering.

He's either a Tibetan Terrier or a Tibetan Terrier cross. I know someone that contacted the BBC to ask, but can't remenber what one they said he was.
