if you do healthy activities, sporting, walking etc. ask her to join you. earn her trust.
But flat out telling her might hurt her and cause more depression which is usally the cause for women to over eat.
be careful.

Are you crazy. Do not open that can of worms. Keep quiet about it , and do your husband a favor do not even share with him. If someone is going to say something to her it will be him in his own good time preferably when he has to go on a business trip and can not be reached for a few days right after.

first, tell them that you care and worry about them, then have some hard facts to back up your worry. tell them that you want your baby to have their dad and aunt around for a long time, because you love them and your child. if you let her know you love her, she may not think you are being mean, but just concerned that you will lose her. it may be that she just needs to know that someone loves her and cares about her well being.

As far as your sister in law leave it alone and butt out unless she asks for your opinion.
Your child's father is a different matter entirely and you should voice your concerns for the sake of your child as well as your relationship.

sit them down to a healthy meal, and gently tell them you are worried about their health and could they please start looking after themselves as they are very important in your life?
If you look like you're doing out of concern for their health and not because they look gross, they might start listening. Also you can help them eat healthy by preparing healthy meals and snacks. Good luck.

you don't think she can see that she's getting fatter by the day?
you need to say something, that's for sure, but how to go about it so she knows you love her? tell her ' i love you and don't want you to die of a heart attack at such a young age - i need you to be in my childs' life, i'm telling you this for selfish reasons. '
