Women from my experience always seem to dodge the subject of masturbation, and losing there virginity (refer question reg-girls popping there own cherries)
Is therean unwritten pact between women there mums teach them or what because when it comes to talking about there love of trouser snakes, they seem to slip around the subject rather quickly.
So why is this? oh and while i'm at it how often do women masturbate, on the hole?

I realise most women do it, personally I find mutual masterbation to be a pleasurable experience, so why this whole...."ooh god I've never been to Ann Summers, I dont do that, I dont own a rampant rabbit" patter.
Blokes just see you as a liar and if you lie about that, then what's to stop you lying about your true feelings for his best mate dave, or what really happened to the rent money whilst you parade round in your new shoes.
It's the tip of a lying iceberg be honest and blokes will admire you for it.

Woman avoid the subject because they are embarassed....but if they are comfortable with their sexuality it really should not matter. Some where along the line masturbation was looked down upon if it was performed by women.

Embarrassment, simply. Women defy the subject just because it's too intimate. Same as why many women won't show or say how they want to be satisfied, or give any indication of enjoying it at all. Your woman should feel REALLY comfortable with you and trust you 100% to word it. Maybe you haven't been treating your women right to be honoured thus.
How often? And how often do women have sex, in general??? It's different with different people.
To me, masturbation is a dummy, it's never as good as the real thing. More of a routine. So if my b/f asked me to do it while he's watching i couldn't, because here's the REAL breathing gorgeous looking hot lad right beside me, why waste the effort?

There's no unwritten pact, women are just embarrased and not as open about it. Some of us are under certain circumstances.
On the whole, I can answer for all women, but for myself, I'd say sometimes once a day, sometimes multiple times a day, sometimes not for a couple of days.
Masterbating in front of my guy was a huge turn on for both of us. Definitely would do it again.

It has always been taboo for women to discuss sexual pleasure. Until recently, however public has proven that a good portion of people still cannot openly talk about masturbation, and intercourse. As for losing the virginity, from my experience, it wasnt a good memory, so I am not always forth-coming on all the details, but have no problem talking openly of the subject.

The subject is a Private one and a lot of women feel uncomfortable talking about it. I believe that it seems like a unwritten pact because most women don't know how to talk about it or simply don't want to.

The vast majority of women are not able to be completely honest with themselves, let alone with others, I must be in the minority because I will admit to all sorts, I'm not ashamed or afraid! There is a somewhat 'Victorian' attitude still within the culture today, and in the 21st century it should be dead and buried, with all the various mediums for gaining knowledge and for expressing oneself, there is no need ot be keeping this in the dark. Mutual is good, m-f f-f, all good in my book, to be at ease with a partner can only come when a woman is at ease with herself, and self exploration is one of the key features for this feeling of ease. How can a woman tell a partner what she likes/dislikes, if she doesnt know herself?

It's quite an embarrassing topic to discuss, especially when you don't know the person in question very well. Lots of women do it in the privacy of their own homes, some are shy, and find it dirty, but if you are fully satisfied and reasonably comfortable with your sexuality, there is no need for this performance.

Extensive research by Nancy Friday, over many years, has demonstrated that there is a wide variety of attitudes towards the subject. Some of it is cultural, some religious and moral based... but that there are 'norms' with widely differing 'other' answers.
When you state 'women always dodge the subject of masturbation,' you should have maybe begun with -
'In my experience, women always dodge the subject ...etc'
which leads us to the question (as suggested in other answers here) something about yourself and the question itself ...in that, there is something questionable in You, and they can't help wondering what it is ~ as maybe do those women you meet who 'Dodge answering your question.'
Best of luck.

Because its a private matter and we don't feel the need to brag about all the time like some of you fellas. When I hear other women talking about sex quite openly and sometimes in quite a filthy manner it really doesn't sound very nice. Sometimes its more sexy to have a bit of mystery surrounding you!!

I agree 100% with Sara but just because a women is o.k. with masturbation does not mean that they have to tell everyone.
And i would guess it's a 50/50 thing verses in hole masturbation to outer hole masturbation.
or maybe it depends if they are in a relationship or not
