I Timothy 2:9-15
"In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
"But (which beciometh women professing godliness) with good works.
"Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
"But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over men, but to be in silence.
"For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
"And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
"Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety."

Galations 3:28
"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female; for ye are all one in Christ Jesus."

Obviously a huge discrepancy between Paul and Timothy's writings and definitely repressive for women....Funny thing is that Paul trained Timothy.

It is a great example of how their Jewish religious culture carried over to this new "faith-based" teaching.

Galactions 3:29

They both are correct. And I will try to expalin it to you, First Galatians3:28, But let's back up a few verses, 27:-29 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Baptized by what? The Holy Ghost. 28: There is neither Jew nor Greek, There is neither bond nor free, there is neither male or female, for ye are all one in Christ 29: And if ye be Christ's then are ye Abraham's seed & heirs according to the promise. To answer your question on where it says we are neither male nor female is because our soul is made in the image of God, so our soul is neither male or female, That does not have anything to do with the fleshly body, but the soul. Because in heaven we are neither male or female nor given in marriage, Christ is looking at the soul being redeemded, & in doing so Christ don't see us as male or female nor as Jews or Greeks or even Gentiles, as long as we came through Jesus Christ for our salvation. Now you ask about 1st. Timothy 2:9-15 We see the Apostle Paul that wrote to the Church at Galatian is also writing to Timothy. I will not type the whole verses out, But Paul is now referring to the natural side of a person & not the spiritual side of a person. It is giving everyday examples of how to walk before God to be pleasing to God. I am presuming you are trying to prove why is it wrong for a woman to preach, we have to understand in Galatians, Paul was seeing the spiritual side of everyone that is redeemed, that God sees neither man or woman when it comes to salvation, But in Timothy we are seeing how we are to present our bodies a living sacrifice, Paul is telling Timothy what he needs to tell the people in every day life. How a woman needs to present herself in public, Paul is also telling Timothy that Adam was made first & then Eve, & it was Eve that brought that sin to Adam, Now to say that all woman will be saved by having a Child, NO, Having a baby have nothing to do with salvation, but it means now since sin enter the picture, that a woman place is to bear children, & that a woman can not, to this day know when she can conceive to have a child. But before the fall, Eve would have known the precise time to come to Adam to bring forth an offspring, But after The serpent got to Eve first, for pleasure, God took that knowledge away from woman of when she can conceive. So now since it looks like you are trying to ask a question about a woman being in the ministry, due to the fact that you brought up scriptures concerning about a woman being silence & not to teach, I presume that you are wondering about a woman in the ministry. I would like to show you some scriptures that can clearly establish that of the TRUE MINISTRY. Look in Ephesians 4:11-13 And HE (GOD) gave some Apostles (in the masculine) & some Prophets(Again in the masculine) & some evangelists,(again in the masculine) & some Pastors(Another in the masculine) & teachers(again in the masculine) if there was any place for a womans ministry it would have said Apostlites, Prophetise, Evangellistites, Pastorites, & teacherets.

Both are correct, and written to different churches,by Paul to correct false teachings and rebuke those that would put new converts to Christ, in confusion. The church in Galatia were of a legalistic Jewish party, taught that salvation for Gentiles must include Jewish circumcision and adherence to mosaic law. Justification is by Faith alone.

1 Timothy is written to the Ephesian church,by Paul.as false teachers were troubling the church, teaching heretical doctrines and practices as well. Paul wanted to refute these practices and to guard against future attacks. He stressed Godly living by all members and clarifying correct church practice. He used the Genesis account in making an implied application by analogy. It is a hard text, but it does not undermine the value of women in the church. Teaching is a Gift that God's Holy Spirit gives to both women and men "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, and hymns and Spiritual songs, singing with Grace in your hearts to the Lord "( Col. 3:16]
To Summit [Greek hupotasso, lit. to line up under] suggests a voluntary relinquishment of ones rights to another, the concept suggests mutual submission and intimacy, promoting a union ordained by God with Love as the binding agent.

Both are wrong which is not suprising as they come from a 2000 year old *religious* tradition. Don't expect to find the answers in biblical, or any scripture whatsoever. Unless you're asking about the origins of oppression, falsehood, corruption, and slavery to such evil ideas.

Ok there are some good things to say about religious people, but believe me, prefer mummies in the museum to preachers in the pulpit.

1Tim taught about how believers should conduct themselves. In those verses Paul gave instructions pertaining to the era and culture.

Gal 3 talks about our identity in God. God sees us as all equal.

In practical living, the tension/ debate between these 2 aspects are great. On one hand, some wants to preserve certain time-tried, established orders in society; on the other, some sees the advantages of letting women attain their full potentials.

And all wants to find Scriptures to support their views. LOL

both

women were told to learn in silence because during this era of time women were on one side of th church and men on the other and they would be disruptive by asking their husbands questions with out bursts during service

Corinthians 14
33. For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
34. Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
35. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

usurp means to practice authority without a given right, but if given the right by their lead they can teach

men and women have different roles not different equality

I honestly fail to see your point...

They can both be right.

A cannot be A and NON A at the same time and in the same relationship.

That isn't what you see above.... You see your attempt to say that one philosophical / doctrinal verse cancels or disagrees with a behavioral / socialogical verse. In fact, they don't disagree.

Look at the bigger picture of who each letter was written to and for what reason. The bible was written so that we could learn from it. Not to take each sentence for exactly what it says. If you put both scriptures back into context, they don't contradict.

All are right.

The crux is in the interpretation. You should study Greek, and Aramaic! Then, you would receive the concepts in their pure form.
