There are other skin problems dogs can have besides fleas. Would hate to see you treat him / her for fleas if he / she has another skin problem that may be further aggravated by the treatment. You can usually see fleas if you comb through the hair.
Your dog might be a little young for some treatments as well. Hate to say it... but this may require a vet visit. If you have fleas... Deal with it quickly. They can infest your house and you would not like it!!! A flea collar works pretty well for preventing any major problems on an older dog. Maybe an occasional bite at most...

That might not be fleas. IF you have flea's first you might actually see them for a second since there really fast second they leave there poop behind. It's tiny black specks. If you see this just smear in on a white piece of paper and if you see reddish on the paper that's flea poop.
Now if you have fleas you can go to a large animal feed store, or a Farm and country store. They will sell Frontline or advantage but it costs a little more this way.
You should be taking a little one like that to the Vet for a check up anyway if he hasn't been yet. Most puppies have worms and that needs to be addressed for them to grow properly.
If you chose to go to Walmart for your flea products please read the box to make sure it okay for a dog that young. Also many flea products only chase the flea off the dog and doesn't take care of the flea problem. Advantage or Frontline does.
Have fun with your puppy.

If your pet has a rash, take it to a vet!!! For a simple and natural flea collar: Dab a few drops of lavander oil on a bandana or other collar, do not apply directly to the animal, and have them wear it. The fleas do not like the lavander oil and should flee.
