if the comforter is the holyspirit, then why would Jesus say "Another comforter" ?

Notice the word: ANOTHER?

John 14:16
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;


if the comforter is the holyspirit as John has claimed, then why would Jesus call the holyspirit with another different name? ... the comforter is a name of a person who will come to compelete the message of God.

Jesus Himslef gave comfort to people. But the Holy Spirit is THE Comforter.
This explians why Jesus said another becuase He WAS a comforter. The Holy Spirit was another one.

Jesus whilst his stay on earth was the comforter to the people. He said that God the Father will provide another after him 'Another Comforter'.

Notice that Jesus referred to the new comforter as one who may abide with you FOREVER. Only a spirit can be forever with us, not any human being.

And if you continue the verse to John14:17 "..(Another Comforter)the Spirit of truth, which the world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor knows it. But you know it, because it remains with you, and will be in you." Which clearly states that the new comforter is a spirit - one which you cannot see. Hence the new comforter after Jesus is the Holy Spirit, not another human being.

And Jesus also didn't say that the comforter would complete the message of God hence Jesus teaching was the complete word. He is the alpha and the omega - the beginning and the end.

While Jesus was alive, he was here in the flesh to comfort the Apostles, But he knew that he will be going away & they will need another comforter, to comfort them once Jesus leaves, So 50 days after Jesus departed, On the day of pentacost, The spirit of TRUTH known as the holy Ghost came to dwell in those Apostles, & even about 3000 more & whosoever will after that. You have to stop & think that the Holy Ghost is not a name but a position of an office work of God himself, I have said many times, Father & Holy Ghost is NOT a name of a person, but a title that goes to a postion of God the Father. So the Holy Ghost could not come as a spirit as long as Jesus walked upon this earth. He had to go away in order to send it back to his followers in SPIRIT FORM.

Jesus was a comfort to the people while He was on earth, but He was going to leave the earth after the Resurrection and so He promised another comforter would be sent, The Holy Spirit.

Hello. To understand the word Another in that portion of scripture,you have to read it from the original greek version.
There it is rendered as "ALOS PARAKLETOS" which means another exactly like myself. The Holy spirit is exactly like Jesus only that he cannot be seen with the optical eyes.
To also prove this point to you, please read the book of The Acts of the Apostles,from Chapter 1 verse 8,it says " ...but you shall receive power after the Holy Ghost is come upon thee,and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem..."
The point is that after the apostles received the Holy Ghost,they began their ministry,doing the things that Jesus did and getting the same results or even better results,because its the same spirit,the comforter,THE ALOS PARAKLETOS.

I imagine He was meaning He was a comforter of sorts, and He
was still talking about the Holy Spirit when he said another
comforter, in that the Holy Spirit came to help when Christ left.
Many think the Holy Spirit doesn't work in their personal life.

Because Jesus Himself was one comforter...

While in the presence of Jesus the Deciples were strong, but away from him they were much weaker because the Holy Spirit resided only within Jesus while he was upon the earth.
