Oh, I had to think about this one! I haven't had a chip buttie in years! White bread, loads of butter and hot chips - and the butter drips off your elbows while you are eating it! Not very healthy though!
Take one avocado and mash it up with a touch or two of Marmite. This will be your butter! Spread it over a good wholemeal or granary slice of bread. Uncut bread seems to taste better but doesn't make such pretty sandwiches.
Get one of those large steak tomatoes and slice it very finely. Put it on the bread.
Now? Options! A minute steak cooked to rare. Bacon rashers. Cheese (your favourite one). Prawns. The list is endless! The important thing is the avacado with the Marmite - and if you don't like Marmite, then use Worcester Sauce. You will enjoy experimenting with this one - and it is so much healthier than butter!

Take one fresh french stick.Cut in half then slice along each half.Lightly toast under grill.take 2 or 3 tomatoes, cut in half then grate them into a bowl, discard skins.Add virgin olive oil to the tomato juice/puree and a pinch of salt.Spoon mixture onto bread garnish with some tinned tuna flakes(in oil,not brine or tomato sauce).Top off with v. thinly sliced medium cheese. Easy to make, quick, cheap and different(have napkins available though) try it!

The ultimate sandwich is:

6" or 12" tuna with tomatoes, lettuce, onions, oil, vinegar, and lots and lots of black pepper.

Ham, Pepperoni & Cheese sandwiches

Take your two slices of bread slap some mayo on each slice (or if you'd rather mustard that's cool too) Add 1 large slice of ham, two thick cut slices of pepperoni & 1 slice of cheese.

My favorite would have to be a hero sandwich: turkey, roast beef, and ham-- with lettuce, tomato, and pickles piled high. Its even better toasted!
