that sounds crazy, i always thought that the bull mastiff was a pretty good natured dog. the ones i know personally r really cool dogs and would never hurt anyone but an intruder.

If hes biting you, the owner, then no its not safe to own this dog.
Most of the time the dog has enough respect, fear or love not to do that.
Plus, sometimes dogs get out of the yard, off the chain, or out of the house if determined enough. Then what? I wouldn't want to chance it.

It is usually safe, because no dog would intentionally harm his owner. But some dogs can cause pain to their owners, and some times they can cripple or even kill their owner by mistake. So it is advisable to find out about dog trainers who would be able to tell you more about your dog.

My mastiff is BIG, but has never bitten me. If he had bitten me I would call a Vet first and get their opinion.

Your dog is safe as long as you can run. Hope he doesn't get a hold of someone slow. LOL.

Perhaps you need to check with the Chinese authorities since your "little lady" reports to us that you are now residing in China!
