Ask the lady's father in writing at least one month before the proposed date. Suggest bringing along a chaperone to defend the lady's honour.

Just wait until you feel comfortable asking if your shy now, if not just ask casually and be yourself. But make sure wherever you want to go the other person likes that place or type of thing also.

first of all i think when you ask someone for a date it should be done in person but you should make sure that when you ask you pull the person to the side and ask but of course make sure you are polite while asking do not say anything vulgar (unless that's what the person likes)

Just be yourself, go and talk to the person first, you can soon tell if they are interested or not. if they look interested just ask, simple as that.

just ask him directly. if you actually do it indirectly, he could misunderstand you as someone a bit chickened out on that. all you need is just confidence.
