This is in-keeping with the perception by some that women make louzy drivers and as a result are far more responsible for causing accidents than men.
Gender of course referring to either the male or female.
Therefore, instead of using the term "fender bender" meaning a less serious accident that only causes minor damage...one might say she was involved in a "gender bender" meaning that "she" (being the driver of one of the cars involved) was responsible for the accident as a result of the fact that "she", or the female gender in general, cannot drive competently enough to avoid having an accident (like a male driver can).
This of course is a sexist remark with nothing to substantiate it's claim except to say that, according to statistics, women are involved in far more minor accidents (or, fender benders) than are men.

They're not. Minor auto accidents are sometimes referred to as "fender benders," in reference to the minimal damage resulting from the accident. A "gender bender," on the other hand, is a term sometimes used to describe a transgendered person.

never heard that. i've heard of fender benders, though. is that what you meant? if so, fender benders are minor accidents where there is little to no damage. maybe the bumper gets dented, but nothing too serious

it's not gender bender. its fender bender. because the front for a car is called a fender.
