English to English? And don't you think that people deserve to be paid for their work? A dictionary takes a huge amount of work to make. Do you want your food for free? Do you want your house for free? Don't the people who do the work deserve to be paid for their work? Wanting to take a dictionary for free is nothing more than stealing.

http://www.dictionary.com is a good online English to English dictionary, but you can't download it, only use it online.

I would only recomend Chambers it is always up to date. and is English, if you want American English well that is Websters.
just look up www.chambers they have a free site
