The F55 can use the Nikon MC-DC1 electronic cable release ($25 at B&H), and the Nikon ML-L3 remote control ($17 at B&H).

use an electronic cable release. You have to buy it separately. Check a good store near your town.

picasa is a Google's photo software. It's what should've come with your camera.
It can Edit , organise and Share you picture and small video flips.
It's very easy to use and is free, just like Google
