Raw green salads are always nice. I dress them with balsamic vinegar and pumpkin or hemp seeds. Boiled greens with lemon juice, roasted garlic and a little coconut oil tastes great too.
Below is a list of glycemic index "free" foods. They are the lowest on the list of the GI chart, so you can combine them in a recipe for a great meal. For oil, I always recommend high-grade coconut for it's extreme health benefits. It's also a good choice because in cooking, it's the least likely of ALL oils to convert to trans fat, and it also is incapable of depositing in the body as subcutaneous tissue or in the arteries. Coconut oil is directly metabolized by the liver. And you can substitute it everywhere! I also use it as a make-up base because the high lauric acid content prevents and treats acne :)
