when i got my baby she was just six months old i dont know how she was treated her first six months of her life but sence me and my boyfriend have had her she is afraid of water. she give me the look of being punished when if comes to giving her a bath but i cant just stop giving her baths because she white and i want to keep her white. she also doesnt like it even if its really hot out she wont even go near the kiddy pool i got her. i wondering if its just a thing she has for water or if maybe someone abused her with water but i would like to know why she would be afriad and advice on how i could make her feel good about getting a bath.

Rosco, 11 year old pit, acts like you're torturing him when he gets a bath. I have him since 5 weeks, so, he just doesn't like the water.
He isn't a great swimmer either.
And he won't go out in the rain.
So I think your girl is normal. Pits are surprisingly wimpy about some things.

Some dogs just do not like it . I have two Springer Spaniels now and one will go into my pool if she see a ball or a frog, the other one will bolt if I am watering plants. I take them to the groomer for their baths and the lady says they are both easy, but I think she is just trying to keep my business.

I've not had a dog yet who liked being bathed!!
Have you tried taking your dog to the beach, or a river?
Sometimes dogs that hate water they HAVE to be in, are happy to enter water they are choosing to enter of their own accord. Specially if they're not supposed to be there.
Two of my dogs were so paranoid about baths, that we ended up just taking them to the local river, and letting them swim around for an hour or so, and that became their bath.

Aw! Probably was scared with water at one point... Just be patient and maybe try throwing a fave toy into about 2-3 inches of water for retrieval over and over to get her used to it... My pittie jumped in a water bowl at 2 days old and it's been tough keeping her out of water!

Can you put pic's on these things? Mine was 5 months when I got him... he too hated the water... until I let him join my girls in their bath! He's still not crazy about it, but he accepts it now!
