forget about it being clean, it probably isn't even real. it's just a scam to take whatever you have. i hope you didn't give them any info. especially since you didn't even apply for anything. Turn that number into the authorities (it might take several phone calls). you might just save someone else from the scam.

I bet the nice gentleman was willing to let you have more information about this money you "won" for a small or even a large fee. He was probably nice enough to be willing to deposit your "winnings" in your bank account, he only needed your routing number and bank account number. If either or both happened, IT IS A TOTAL SCAM AND YOU SHOULD HAVE NEVER OPENED THE EMAIL IN THE FIRST PLACE. You will end up with nothing, except an empty bank account and no way to trace where any of your money ended up.

You are being scammed. If you contact them they will make it sound very official and inform you perhaps that the money will be shipped via UPS or fed ex or mail etc all of your choice. Then they will tell you that the bank will not allow shipping costs to be deducted from the prize and the costs and bank fees have to be paid in advance by you. Then they will ask for thousands of dollars so they can release your money. You didn't enter a contest and you didn't win anything so don't fall for it.

This is a scam. You haven't actually won anything! There are widespread Internet scams. One of the biggest is one called "619" (referring to the relevant legal code). They are often based in Nigeria, but now other countries too. The typical scammer tells a story about how somebody left a large sum of money (millions), but they just can't get at it, and must set up an account in another country to get at the money. It's a scam.
Do not take the bait. Protect yourself from victimization, and warn others about it too!!

Doesn't sound legit. I would just leave it alone. Sounds like some of the e-mails I get saying I could claim money as someone's next of kin. and I think I have gotten one of the e-mails saying I won some foreign lottery. Your best bet would be to delete the message.

It is all fake, They will ask you to pay the transaction fee or for proof sake your bank account no or will ask to register the transaction to pay towards the registration fee. After you pay suddenly you will find that they will not reply to your phone or your mail. My sincere suggetion is do not go for a easy money which will not give the happiness. Earn a small hard money and enjoy it that will satisfy you a lot.

I got an American Scam llike this a few months ago by mail... I won 1,000,000.00US dollars....lol.... , but they were asking me $29.99 US to pay for transaction fee...!!! oes that make sence to you...?? Why not give me 999,970.01 and they can keep the 29.99 of the check... They never sent me the check... Shoul I sue...? ///.....lol....
Tell them to make a check and you'll pick it up... then send international UPS to pick up the enveloppe... That way you give no infos...
