it is the result of a pride in human intellect that destroys the grasp for the matters of the spirit and the heart.

A few verses for Atheists who have not been persuaded by a minority of self exalted philosophers and radical atheists to believe the bible is a man made myth,

2 Timothy 3
16. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, (not man)
Colossians 2:
8. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.(atheism and evolution is philosophy and vain deceit)
Psalms 14:
1. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.
Matthew 24
11. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many(darwinism)
Romans 1
21. Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22. Professing themselves to be wise, they became FOOLS

how can you explain the wisdom of the Bible? That is if you have ever studied it...can't be made up
The bible says "walk by faith not by sight"
Think with your spirit and heart for once

God loves you I do too

how can men so easily count a theory that has only existed for a few hundred years as wise, but asume the eternal word of God that has been known to men for thousands of years as folly? Have they ever Studied the Bible? how can they discredit something they don't know

Do you know what?

Psalm 14:1 is the very reason that I lost all faith in the Bible.

Those were the least convincing quotes I have ever heard.

ie.
1) Atheists do not believe the Bible
2) Bible verses are part of the Bible
3) Therefore atheists don't believe the verses.

Therefore you would have done better to post blank space.

Ive studied the bible. i am an ex christian now atheist (Youll probably say thats impossible) so be it.
"minority of self exalted philosophers" = untrue statement.
quoting the bible doesnt prove anything except you know some of the bible. The same if i do it.... look
John 5:39 You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life...
see I can do it also. it doesnt mean the verse is true however.
Mathew 24:22 would seem to be a verse referring to christians more than atheist.
The bible is not a man made myth. Jesus is the myth, just like the other myths at the time you would have no problem calling myths.
There is no such thing as 'Darwinism', that's just a term used by christians because they are very angry that science has discovered so much more truth in 200 years than 1500 years of Christianity, that christians can only stand by and drool.
Why are christians so out to fight against evolution. Its only a minority that believes in it. Its because evolution has evidence that supports it, and Christianity has nothing.
The church has been against all moral, civil and scientific advances through the ages because of this view that non christians cant learn anything without being a christian.
Atheist = rational intellectualism
Christianity = anti-intellectualism
EDIT 1:
Read Socrates for earlier more profound things than what is recorded in the bible.
The fool learns nothing from the wise, but the wise learns much from the fool.

You can't use the Bible to prove itself, that's circular logic. That's like saying "I'm right because I said so," it could apply to any argument. Besides, you can't just include pieces of the Bible if you want to convert someone to Christianity, the Whole book needs to be taken, in context. So post some of goriest bits of the book of Joshua, or some of the choicer misogynous statements towards women, and see what people say.

Besides, if God created humans he could have done much better by not making our eating hole the same as our breathing hole. Would keep a lot of people from choking. Plus, we could do without an appendix, too, which does nothing but get infected and kill us.

That blind spot we share with mammals (but not octopi) is a dead giveaway for evolution, unless perfect God mindlessly copied the same flaw from animal to animal, and from them to people. Is that a better explanation than the flaw being passed down from generation to generation?

When a teacher sees two students with the same solution to a problem, she might suspect copying. When she sees two students with the same _mistakes_ there's no doubt.

Hate to steal your thunder, but quoting text does not make any point other than the Bible is a well composed and intelligent scripture which anticipates scepticism. All you are saying is that the Bible says anyone who disagrees with what is written here is wrong. Of course they are going to say that, otherwise the Bible would carry no weight whatsoever. It is a little narrow minded in todays world to point the finger at any who try to make their own understanding of the world around them and label them as fools, simply because the Bible says so.

If it is pride in human intellect which leads to atheism, what species of pride is it that leads to a belief in God?

I will refrain from suggesting that religious people are fools, though. A policy you may wish to consider, judging by the way you choose to capitalise the word at the end of your question.

See, I may be an atheist, but I don't pretend to be anything else.

Is it really Christian to infer that those who who are not are fools?

Or are you just another self-professed, pretentious, so-called "Christian" who is great when it comes to talking the talk, but absolutely useless when it comes to actually walking the walk?

Atheists have their own path to walk and their own lessons to learn.
Just because you do not agree with their path does not negate it.

I would rather a kind loving Atheist than a devout suicide bomber any day of the week.
In being kind and loving, he is learning his lessons just as effectively as the church going christian.

Christianity is being incredibly arrogant in asserting they have the right way and everyone else is wrong, vanity on a grand scale.

Tolerance for ALL beliefs is the watchword we should strive for and the preservation of God given free will for these beliefs to be followed without prejudice.

Actually the most sprirtially blind people are christians who refuse to beleive proven facts.

1. Like Jefferson not being christians.
2. Like the NIV is not word of god because the wording is either missing or exact opposite in meaning than previous version.

Blind faith is what Satan loves the most.

I'm an atheist because of my human intellect, not because of pride in it, and my grasp of matters of the spirit and the heart has not been destroyed. And I am far from spiritually blind. By the way, would you please stop quoting from the Bible and give your own thoughts. I could quote from Marx, Voltaire, Spinoza and Hegel ad nauseum and it would mean nothing to you as well as being very boring.

I am not sure that quoting a book some do not believe is true will change their mind.

The thing that flipped my mind was when I gave into the experience I felt rather then hold to the belief that everything HAD to be purely rational - that may not work for everyone.

Some people just don't like to think that they aren't responsible for their own lives and that in the end they will have to answer to someone.
