MySpace to blame? No. MySpace shouldn't be blamed for people's stupidity and irresponsibility. MySpace can't control what people present to others, only that person can. Nowhere on the MySpace website does it say that people are required/recommended to release personal information such as phone numbers and home addresses. If I recall correctly, their terms of service mentions something about the release of personal information. (That they won't release it to third parties.)

It's not myspace to blame. Some teenagers are just plain stupid. Considering I have myspace you can change the settings on your page so that it's private and the only people that can even view your page are people that you make your friends. So why the media is blaming myspace is because their looking for a scape goat. I agree with you 100%

Myspace sucks. It may not be the websites own fault that those girls gave out their phone #s and addresses, but come on the whole point of myspace is putting yourself and information about you on the internet. Of course perverts are gonna go there. Duhhhh. myspace is stalker friendly. like giving stalkers the easy button

Everyone has to blame someone. If I had a teen, I would monitor everything they do on the internet or they wouldn't be allowed on there if I didn't think they were smart enough to know right from wrong. We teach our kids to not talk to strangers so I guess now we will have to teach our teens that strangers are still strangers online and in-person. Parents need to stand up and take a role in their children's lives. Where are the responsible people?

Don't blame MySpace, blame the teens for being so stupid! There should be a new law: whenever someone gives their number to a stranger, they should be slapped in the face!

Myspace shouldn't be blamed; the teens that post their private info should. It's not like Myspace forces them to put it up..

I guess these kids never got the message "don't talk to strangers".
Blame the parents for not supervising internet activity and not informing their children about what kind of whackos are out there.

No business can protect people from their own careless stupidity. Many teens want thrills, and will have them, even if the cost is too high.
