When I was about eight years old, after my communion and everything I denoucned my faith with the catholic church. I told my mom that I was having trouble with my beliefs and that I no longer want to be apart of it. My mother was probably the least religious in the family and accepted it. My aunt and uncle (God parents) are the strictest and were upset with me. Ever since though, my family hasn't been going (unless it's a holiday, go figure.)
For a while now I have been learning about Islam and I plan to convert someday in the future. It's the only religion that I feel close to and that makes me feel good. When I was about 13 I told myself to find faith in something, for living a life without something to follow would only lead me to destruction.
ANYWAYS, Why do people in most other religions praise Jesus, when it was God who created us? Does anyone else consider jesus' death (in the bible) more of a sucide than anything? Aren't I responsible for my own actions/sins?

Not all Muslims are doing bad.
Plus, if I become a muslim, does that mean i'll be a terrorist? No. I was born Roman Catholic as well as Timothy McVeigh... will that make me a psychotic bomber? Serial killers in the U.S. are mostly either Catholic or Christian... I didn't stop believing because of them... so stop discriminating

I DIDN'T JUST PICK THE RELIGION BECAUSE IT MADE ME FEEL GOOD.
I was making it short and simple. Want a whole list on why i'm choosing Islam? Just ask... it's 4:11 am. By feel good it means many things. Such as I feel pure and refreshed when I follow it as much as possible. I chose it because I BELIEVE in it. I feel close to it's teachings. My buddhist cousin is happy and it makes her feel good, but i'm not becoming a buddhist... because I DO NOT believe it.

Mustafa, thank you for your answer.
I do not believe that jesus let this happen to him as so in the bible. I was just wondering why other religions believe so. My boyfriend is helping me learn as much as possible about Islam and I haven't doubted it since!
People stop telling me to choose christianity, for I obviously don't believe it. I respect you all, but I found what I love; Islam.

My dear . . . you have opened a can of worms. There are two things that will start a war faster than anything and that is politics and religion and you just HAD to choose religion, didn't you? LOL
Anyway, what the vast majority of the world's population fails to realize is that there isn't one true religion . . . it's impossible. If you do enough research, you will find similarities in all religions which means they all came from a central belief at one time or another. Unfortunately, the information on this central belief system has been twisted and perverted through repeated translations from one language to another so many times over, that the original meanings have been lost for a very, very long time.
The only thing we can truly do is to live a life where you try to do good at all times, be a good person, help your fellow man, be loving, kind and considerate and if there truly is a Heaven, you'll go there. If there's not, well, you did your best to make your corner of the world a better place for everyone else.
People can search for a lifetime looking for truth and meaning and fail to realize that peace comes from within. If you find a religion that helps you to realize your inner peace, then congratulations! You have done what so few have aspired to accomplish.
Good luck in all that you do!
UPDATE:
I'm the last person to tell someone what religion to pick. I was raised Church of Christ and am now Agnostic and my husband discribes himself as a "Recovering Catholic".
Stay true to your heart and you'll be fine.

Yes, Jesus went rather voluntarily to his death, which is not quite the same thing as suicide, but your point is made. And yes, you are responsible for your own actions and sins. As to the distinction between God and Jesus, there you have a doctrinal problem the Christians have been grappling with for roughly 2,000 years. The whole Trinity concept is one that non-Christians find largely incomprehensible. So do a lot of Christians, I think.
Since you have already learned a good bit about Christianity, and are now looking into Islam, don't forget that there are many, many other religions in the world. Those two proselytize, and so they are the easiest to study. But give a thought to why others do not proselytize. There is something appealing in the idea that you come to God in your own way, and that way is not improved by pressure from others.
You are doing a comparative religion study now, and that can be a very enlightening experience. But do go past the two you have looked into so far. If you have not yet gone to college, you might seriously consider doing an academic degree in comparative religion studies. Interestingly, it would probably be in the anthropology or philosophy departments. We do not have an academic discipline that is truly comfortable with the concept of a spiritual quest.
Do keep your mind and soul as open as is safe when you study. There is both wisdom and foolishness everywhere you look.

It says that all things that were created were created by Jesus. Jesus is God! The trinity is a bit of a mystery, but the three aspects of the Godhead are one. You may read about that in the book of Colossians. Also, if you want understanding about the mission of Jesus read the book of Philippians; he came to be a sacrifice for our sins at a time when we were lost and having no hope.
His death was not a suicide, but a laying down his life so that he could conquer death and hell. He did not kill himself, but merely chose the time when death would take him through the actions of the Jews and the Romans.
If you want an in depth study of all this, go on to read the book of Romans! It's awesome
Jesus was the only one to fulfill over three hundred prophecies written down before he came. He walked on the water, multiplied food, turned water into wine, healed the sick and raised the dead. Think carefully about him before making any radical life altering decisions. Read the book of John also... and God bless!

Umm, hate to rain on your parade, but God and Jesus are one and the same. God the Father and God the Son have always been that way. God saw that the world was a sinful mess and sent Himself to live in the world as Jesus. Jesus's death wasn't suicide, since the Father knew about it, and Jesus's death came at the hands of others, as a punishment, but to believers as a sacrifice. If you were Catholic at one time, wouldn't you have known all of this???

I am not a catholic so I don't know about that religion, but I am and always was a believer in Christ. I can see that you are totally confused about the understanding of the relationship of God and Jesus.... but that's not your fault. I would blame those who was teaching about God in the begining because they did a piss poor job of it.
It is throught the instructions of God that all that worship him must accept his son Jesus. Jesus was not a prophet as the middle eastern religions will lead you to believe. Jesus is the Son of God, sent by God to deliver the message of God and in turn, God recognizes his Son and is well pleased with the obediance of his Son Jesus. Now if I were to explain everything about Jesus, it would take me many hours so I will stop here. But I need to clearify that Jesus did not commit suicide and YES, you are responsible for your own actions/sins... but how will you find forgivenss for your sinful actions? Well, that is one of the main reason why Christ gave himself as the ultimate sacrifice. A sacrifice for the sin of all who accepts him as their savior. There can never be a better sacrifice than the Son of God.
I wish I could explain better and more but as I said, it would take hours upon hours to explain of which I would gladly do if I could.
I wish you find the true living God and according to God.... no one can come unto him accept it be through his son Jesus Christ.
I wish you well.

Did you know Bible prophecy is very accurate?? Im talking NT as well as OT.
Did you know that most of Revelation has already taken place?!
Jesus created us also friend, he is apart of the Godhead. The OT was full of sacrifice to take away sin, Jesus sacrifice is much better, because he was without sin, and took it upon himself. You are responsible for your own actions and sin, but Jesus can forgive you for what you have done, if you allow him to work upon your heart. Also Jesus is apart of the Godhead and he helped create us (john 1:1-5)
PLEASE if you are honest about finding your faith, look into Christianity, research Bible prophecy and then make your decision.
start with daniel 2 (mysterious image)
daniel 7 (kingdom prophecy's)
daniel 8,9,10,11,12 (time prophecy's)
and revelation 12 and 13.
P.S PLEASE don't judge Christianity on Catholicism. It is unbiblical. It changed the 10 commandments... i can go on. Please do these studies.

one of my first steps in leaving Christianity was.
during conformation class , age 13 ,the , minister said...if a baby was Hindu and it dieded with out being saved the ...HINDU BABY WOULD GO TO HELL.
i about jumped out of my seat , and beat the crap out of the minister. SOMETHING IN SIDE ME [REVOLTED]...seeing that i am a Hindu now i understand , why.
i was up front of the Church in that robe thing, taking my first Communion...as i did it i thought
"NOW I WILL GET ENLIGHTENMENT"...but then enlightenment didn't happen so i lost faith in the christian religion

you may have been a Muslim in a norther life....so you will have to look at this[NOW] and see if the modern form of Islam is the same Islam you practiced....hundreds of years a go, when you were a Muslim woman.
the modern form of the religion may be to hate full, and you don't want to hate others, ...you want to love others.so chose love not hate.

You are right about God creating us. You were not guided properly in your young age to find answers to your beliefs. Jesus' death is not suicide. He allowed Himself to be killed by the Jews, according to the Scriptures. According to the will of God. He came to fulfill the Scriptures. It was prophesied in the Bible that Jesus would be born, and He will die as a ransom for the sins of mankind. Yes, you are responsible for your own actions. But who will give you heaven after this life? Who will be the judge for your actions. God provided a way out of this maze. He expended the blood of Jesus, His Son, as a one time sacrifice for all the sins committed by everyone. If we accept this fact and our sinfulness and accept Jesus as our Savior and Lord, you will enter into the Kingdom of God and heaven after your earthly life here.

There are many religions (as an example - Gal.1:13 below, the Jews’ religion), but one faith (Eph.4:5 below).
Eph.4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
When we are baptized into Christ Jesus by the Holy Spirit we BECOME a “new creature” (2 Cor.5:17, Gal.6:15 below). We become, individually, as well as collectively, the living body of Christ (Col.1:24 below). We become the church of God (1 Cor.10:32 below, 1 Cor.1:2, 1 Cor.15:9, Gal.1:13), the one faith (Eph.4:5 above).
2 Cor.5:17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he IS a new creature (Gal.6:15 below): old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Gal.6:15For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature (2 Cor.5:17 above).
Col.1:24Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for His body's sake, which IS the church (1 Cor.10:32, Gal. I:13, 1 Cor.1:2).
1 Cor.10:32Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God (Eph.2:16 below).
Eph.2:16 And that he might reconcile BOTH (Jews and Gentiles - 1 Cor.10:32 above) unto God in one body (the church of God - 1 Cor.10:32 above) by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
Gal.1:13For ye have heard of my (Paul's) conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God (1 Cor.10:32 above), and wasted it.

You looked for a religion that made you feel good? This was one of your highest priorities? That is a pretty pathetic reason to follow a faith. "Pathetic" meant not in the judgmental way it's passed around these days, but "pathetic" as in "provoking pathos."
Jesus did not kill himself. He was crucified. Technically--and in all other ways--when one is killed by others, one does not kill himself.
Are you saying that you think he committed suicide because he went to Jerusalem, knowing what would happen? Well, don't forget that he prayed to his Father that he be spared crucifixion. Normally a suicide does not ask not to die. In fact, they never do.
Does this mean his Father killed him? No. What the deal is, is that God came to Earth to live a human life and to pay the price for human sin. There was a debt owed to God that no human could pay, and so God paid his own debt. No sinner could pay the price, because the crime was sin. And only one who did not owe--that is, a sinless one--could pay for those of us who did owe, with "us" being the sinners.
You are responsible for your own actions, yes. What does this have to do with anything?
