Yes, and not really, but kind of. It started when I was 5 and drove a snowmobile for the first time. Then I moved onto ATVs and by 12 or 13 I was driving dad's truck out in the country. I was probably 14 the first time I drove on a city road, and I had my permit as soon as I turned 16 (minimum age in my state). My parents continued to teach me to drive until I got my license. The following summer they made me get a job at an overnight summer camp, so they didn't worry about me hanging out with my fellow teenage friends and getting in trouble. They didn't want to have to drive me back and forth to work- but because they pretty much forced me to work there they had to get me there somehow. My grandma just happened to have an unused car sitting around, so they gave me that for the summer. When camp ended and school started, they never asked for the car back. I think at that point they thought I had earned it- I worked the whole summer with only having a few hours off at a time. It was still in my grandma's name though- and it did get taken away for a week or two at a time when I got in trouble. I kept the car until I was 22 and bought a new (to me) car.
