just do cardio and eat healthly. most people think they have to lift weights to get toned, but in actuallity losing that fat off your legs will make them look more tone. just work on the treadmill do lunges, calve raises and squats and those legs will look hot.

Hate to be the breaker of bad news, but there is no easy or even fast way to fix any part of the body. It definitely takes motivation, time, and control. I speak from personal experience. I would suggest that if your main goal is to tone and thin your legs:

1) Eat less fat
2) Do more cardio exercise

To tone your legs, you ultimately have to get rid of the fat that is covering the muscles, and until you can do that, your muscles won't be as defined as you want them. And the same goes for making them skinnier. Good luck! We're all in the same boat.

A week isn't enough time to tone your legs. Forget silly goals like this as they are imposssible to meet - this will only lead to discouragement which will only scupper your real goal which isn't a time frame but properly toned legs.

There are many ways you can do this. Take up cycling, go to the gym and do lunges, squats, leg presses, calf rollovers, etc or take up a gym class such pilates, legs, bums and tums or take dancing lessons, running, or even walking instead of taking the car will also help.

If you doing weight based leg programme then you should give at least 24 hours, preferably 48 hours, between sessions. If cycling, running, dancing you can do this as often as you like up to your own fitness levels and you can build these easily over time.

When exercising a muscle you are actually breaking it down so that it will repair itself and grow back stronger and that's the reason why rest is important as it allows time for that growth and helps to prevent injury to the muscle.

After all forms of exercise it is important to stretch out properly as this help to lenghten the muscle out again as it will contract somewhat under the strain of the exercise. This lengthening will be particularly important to legs as you want long sleek looking legs and not over muscled legs with short fat muscles.

You aren't going to be able to see big changes in a week! I've done many many exercise videos, starting with Jazzercise which I think was the first one. The very very best workout for leg strength and toning I have ever done is the Cher "New Attitude" workout taught by Australian Kelli Roberts. The leg workout is all standing, it is very controlled and very intense, but you will see results very fast, however it will probably take a week to recover from the soreness caused by the first time you do the workout. If you stick to it I guarantee you will see significant results in a few weeks.
