Does anyone really know how many barrels are in a heap?

2 pecks in a bushell
if they are 1/2 barels ( 28.5 gal.) it is 21
fill full barrels (49.5 gal) it is 17

You have it backwards - there are 4 pecks in a bushel.
As for the second question, I have no idea - as many as one can pile in a heap, I guess.
