A friend of mine thinks that the government has the cure for cancer but they are making to much money treating the illness to even want to cure it, because they would lose money if the disease wasn't around any more.

That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Curing cancer would bring in more money than treating it. How much money do the drug companies and the government make off of regular illnesses that require a cure, namely antibiotics.. Antibiotics have got to be one of the most prescribed meds if not the most in the world. Antibiotics are the only meds that exist that are "cures" everything else just treats symptoms.
Not to mention, the whole notion is just idiotic. The ex-president cant keep Monicas "lip service" from hitting the papers, do you really think this could be covered up? Get real. Some of you are entirely too paranoid. Im sure government officials and pharmaceutical employees have family etc. who have died from or are suffering from cancer, do you really think they would keep it on the downlow that a cure exists so the company they work for can turn a profit? Doubt it. Or if they themselves were suffering from it.

Chemo drugs make one trillion $$ per year! Cure?...Wait on it.....
.....still waiting? The NIH has known what to do for breast cancer
since 1970. they used one of the 8 vital sugars called glyconutrients. since it is natural they could not synthesize it and make it into drug.So here we are looking for the so called cure. that's pretty dang stupid. the government. that's ridiculous. how would the government stop every single scientist in the world from curing cancer. that's a lot of work to do and a heck of a conspiracy against a lot of people who lose loved ones to cancer - including plenty of government workers.
so no, I really don't think that is going on.
I happen to think that cancer sticks around from doing really unhealthy things or being exposed to really unhealthy things or getting a gene from a parent (maybe through the generations one of the ancestors was explosed to something really unhealthy) so that's why people continue to get cancer. and cancer is more prevalent in industrialized countries, so I really think this helps contribute to it - people forget what is natural and good and that cmoes from the earth and what is healthy. I don't mean healthy products, I mean like, straight from the earth vegetables, plants, healthy meat from animals and fish..
It's all the tinkering we do with chemicals and pollution and it's all the chemical stuff we eat like twinkies that contribute to our rates of cancer...

Your friend is right! The causes are there, the cure is there, the answer is money! Who has it and who does not. Money is in the 'trying to cure' not the cure. More money less answers and more illness.

Now why would they do that? if there was a cure for cancer, they would make it more expensive, thus ending the speculation of the pharmaceutical companies and hospitals losing millions because no one goes for cancer treatment anymore.

not just government everyone is envovled if you have stock in pharmeceutical or drug labs you as whell would lose its all about money when you realize this youll be better off if the people want a cure they will have to find it themselves. yes they do have a cure its called live with it

Hah, I doubt it. If the Democrats could find a way to further smear Bush's name (like claiming his administration let people suffer and die to make money) they'd have done it by now.
