I am having a going-away dinner party for myself and will have a cabaret-type singer and a keyboard player to entertain. I need suggestions on what they should play, including pop, oldies, light rock, folk and Broadway or movie themes.

1. What are some great piano songs that you really love and that you think are amazing -- include the song name and composer or the singer.

2. What are some great male-female duets? I will be singing along with the singer in some cases, and am interesting in finding good songs with male and female parts.

Thanks

You've absolutely got to check out Billy Vera and the Beaters. He's the best cabaret piano-player singer I've ever heard.
Also early Elton John and Norah Jones tunes.

Male-Female duets: Check out "I Fall To Pieces" sung by Aaron Neville and Trisha
Yearwood on the "Rhythm, Country and Blues" CD. Also "Feelings" sung by Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn. Those are country, and you didn't mention country, but those are the only ones that popped into my head just now.
