I am getting married in October 2007 and I want my wedding colors to be pastel pinks and greens. My fiance and I think it is an awesome color combo but we are getting a lot of criticism because we are told that greens and pinks don't go together. Any suggestions? Opinions?

They are great together, but more often seen in spring weddings. Maybe it's the timing that has the people thrown off.

Pink and green are actually an old traditional combination for colors. English royalty used them many times over the years. Alexandra, George V and Mary, Ann, Victoria, Elizabeth, etc.. all used them in various important ceremonies, and the people copied them at the time. You aren't choosing anything new, it's been done before, by royalty no less!

It's your wedding, do whatever will make you happy. Show them some sites of pink and green wedding to point out how popular the colors are.

It is your and your fiance's choice, ignore the criticism. They can get over their narrow minds and be happy for the two of you.

Many people will criticize you through out the way, but I would say stick to your guns, especially if you have a "plan" in mind. Many times something on paper doesn't look right to many, but once it's a visual the "views" change. If you are going with the pastels, like light pinks/mint green those will compliment each other. I would do one as the dominant color and the other as the accent (personal opinion), ie pink as dominant w/ mint accents or vice versa. This will make each of the colors stand out, and not seem like they are competing for the "attention". Remember this is your day, and you both should do something that your happy with. Congrats!!!

Forget about what everyone else says! It's your wedding!

Greens and pinks are fine, but he best thing to do to make sure is to go to a fabric store and check out some color combos...it's the only way for you to tell if the colors will indeed look good together.

I think that Pink and Green are lovely colors, don't let anyone try to tell you otherwise. After all this is your wedding, you have the right to choose what you want for your wedding. Stick with it!!!
Also maybe add some purple to it if you want. I know the feeling, people tried to tell me my bouquet colors didn't match, but I ignored them. I got remarried for the 2nd time on October 2,2002

Do what you want and stick to your guns! Someone will criticize something no matter what you choose. It's your big day and if you and your fiance like it then that's all that matters. And get used to the unwanted suggestions, You'll hear them until your wedding day. It's just one of those things.

I wear green shoes with pink clothes all the time. The compliment each other very well. I would say you have some very artistically challenged (or color blind) people in your family. Good luck

The bridesmaids do no longer might desire to compare your dress. you could pick any color under the rainbow for his or her outfits and it is going to be advantageous. Champagne is a independent color in my opinion. evaluate, the season that your wedding ceremony will take place, the subject which you pick for the marriage to tournament their outfits or it could additionally be your well-liked color.
