If we didn't have to deal with lust, we wouldn't be people.

In other words, if we did not have things that tempt us to stray from faith, we would not have choices. And therefore our love for God would be useless, since it would be a choiceless thing--which is not love.

to the person who said: God puts jerks on this earth.

God does not put jerks on this planet, that is such a foolish statement, remember freewill? We all have it, so if people chose to become jerks, that was their choice, influenced by evil, by principalities of the air.

And, to answer the question, God did not make robots, we are here to be tested, why? Simply because we do know between right and wrong and God gave us the 10 commandments in the old testament, we are no longer under the law, that's why Jesus Christ came to this earth to die for our sins, he gave himself as a living sacrifice as atonement, and because we love God and respect what he tells us in His word, is why we don't do those things, the evil one brings the lust of the eyes, the flesh, and all evil, it is a constant battle and it is all about choices, we all know that, God created man to show the devil, that men are able to love God on their own, and this is why we live a life free from all that, how by staying away from temptation such as what you mention, the word of God says to guard our eyes, ears, and most of all our minds and hearts, the lust thing is very deceitful.

I'd really recommend that you remain faithful to that beautiful person you end up marrying and that you are sure about it, because it must be til death separates you, you wouldn't want to hurt someone by being unfaithful and I'm sure you wouldn't want to be cheated on right?

This question is applicable to everyone, not just Christians. Good point, I it were true, lol! Then all we have to do is meet the person, and if our eyes dilate and we start sliding off the seat, then we already know s/he is THE ONE. No courtship necessary, no long, drawn out thing, no expensive trying-to-impress, we could just marry the following week and not ever have to live through any of those dates from hell.

Man, if only this were true!

I don't like the idea. hmmmm, maybe I do; If he had thought of that then perhaps you wouldn't be here to ask foolish questions.

Nah, then He might have thought I wanted to drive a Ford. Or dig ditches for a living, or be a lifetime student. Pretty soon there wouldn't even be a need for free thought.

That would have been nice, been then some of us would not have a testamony, we could never see how awesome God truely is. It's hard to appreciate Him if you have never had to depend on Him or nver had Him deliver you or set you free or heal you. All things work together for good to them that love the Lord, so that HE can be glorified.

it's my opinion that He made us this way precisely so we WOULD have to deal with lust...we don't grow and mature when life is easy...it is only thru overcoming problems that we grow...

God has a sense of humor. It's kind of like why he puts jerks on this planet.
