Hi,
I fall in love with my Anatomy Professor. I am in my late 20s (finishing my Nursing Master degree) and my professor in early 30s, both of us are resident in Los Angeles, CA. Me and my professor were constantly teased by my classmates because everybody knew that we like each other. (He blushed and I blused everytime, we talk, even during classes.) Since both of us were above the minor age, is it legal or is there no "Conflict of Interest" to have my professor as my boyfriend? Since I could not wait until i finished my study in the next 18 months.
2nd question, Could i date my Teacher, if he is no longer my subject teacher, but we are still in the same campus?
3rd question, assume that my professor didnt become my BF, but he wanted to lease 1 my available bed rooms in my house. Is that legal to have your teacher lives with you while you are a student in the same school he teaches?
Thanks for your advices and especially your time answering my questions.

I heard a lot of blah blah blah in that.
If your nursing skills are on par with your English skills and your ethics...God help us all.
PS - Stay away from law school. You're way too stupid.

I hate to break it to you, but you're going to destroy your amazing teacher's reputation if you don't wait. He has to abide by a strict code of ethics and dating students would wreck his career. If you honestly care about him, admire and drool all you want, but resist.
Disciplinary action could be taken against him and he might be forced to resign. He'll lose the respect of his colleagues, creating an awful working environment. Students will see him as that sleazy prof who sleeps with students and won't take him seriously.
It could also hurt you. People will think you slept with the prof for better grades, you'll lose the respect of your peers and other profs. The administration may start to scrutinize your grades and question their merit.
As far as having him as a tenant? Let me say one thing: How would you feel if you misread him, he's not interested in you and he invites other women over to spend the night with him... and you can overhear everything?
I'm presently in a relationship with my ex-university professor. We started dating years after I graduated, we've been together for two years and we're still forced to keep our relationship a secret (he now works as a top university administrator, so things are way more complicated).
If it's meant to be, after you've graduated, you will go visit him on campus to say hi and thank him for all his help. He'll nearly fall out of his chair at the sight of your stunning beauty, he'll be speechless, unable to take his eyes off you, his heart will race and he'll spill his coffee because his hands will tremble so much. After you ease his nerves, it won't be long until he asks you out.
This is precisely what happened with my prof and I. What followed was the most romantic and passionate courtship ever imaginable. I had a crush on him for 8 years before anything happened. It turns out, he had a crush on me all along too. Being with each other was a dream come true for both of us. I hope your love story will end well too. I wish you the best of luck in being united with your one true love.

you're in a difficult situation. first check the school's faculty manual and know the code of ethics that are expected of the professors. as long as he is not violating any school policy including the moral and social responsibility expected of him. then it's alright for both of you to be involved with each other. i've seen that happened in the school where i came from and where i taught and the couples are now happily married and they also work in the same school.
however, just be ready for the comments you will hear from other peole who don't understand your situation.it can be hurtful and unfair at times.
as i've said if you are ready for some nasty talks to circulate about you two, then go ahead and lease him one of your bedrooms. however, if you're not ready for it then you ought to take time to think about it so that you'll make a sound decision on the matter.
good luck!

It appears to me dear that There is something you are Hiding from us.You are over 18 years and shortly completing Master Degree in Nursing is OK However I feel you are in Love but he is Not. In my view He treats you as a student and not as a Girl friend which is why I would advise you to concentrate on you studies and finished the Degree Level with colors. In USA we need Good Nurses and Not one sided Lovers.

This teacher can get fired if he is dating a student that he has direct control of his/her grades. It's not funny, and he's very lucky that while you were in his class, that other students did not report it. The whole issue sounds sleazy, such as he wants to lease a bedroom in your house, yet, you say he's not your bf. Sorry, but all schools have VERY strict guidelines about student/teacher relationships, even if you are no longer in one of his classes. And administrations takes this issue very serious. If he values his job, he needs to act more professional. There's plenty of time after you graduate for romance.

So long as he's faculty and you're an attending student the rules of fraternization apply. Might want to check school code of conduct to get the speciffics. Good luck.

There is nothing illegal in dating your teacher or leasing a part of your house to your teacher.
