I'd love to go, but I don't know the language and I don't know how well I'd be received. I've talked to several Iranian people in the US, and really enjoyed talking to them. One of the things they mentioned is how beautiful the country is.

Your government censors your news media. They control what you hear and see. You are probably not aware that Iran no longer exists. It was completely destroyed in a great war about 7 months ago. All the Iranian people were killed, including you.
Israel owns the land of Iran now. They are going to make it into a beautiful new amusement park with a Temple of Solomon theme. They will have the world's largest ferris wheel shaped like the Star of David.
Sorry to be the one to tell you.

It will take a long time to build people's trust about the political stability of a country that goes through change on a regular basis, and quite honestly, is a place people know little about in the first place.
It was never a popular tourist destination but used to attract a lot of oil workers and teachers once upon a time, and it could again with a consistent, moderate foreign policy and global outlook.

Do you mean talking to Iranians or coming to visit Iran? I have no reason to visit the middle east, and with my luck Bush would start bombing the airport I land at. As far as talking to Iran goes, we had better get started before any more trouble erupts. In war, everyone loses.

because George Bush and tony blair have in my opinion de-stabilized the World. The perception of danger there is most likely more than the reality. If a Westerner on Holdiay was kidnapped I wonder if he/he would have local support or people would turn a blind eye? I really do not know

Well, as a single woman, what are the chances I could go there and get arrested for not dressing properly? What if I carry a Bible in my suitcase or purse? Could I go places by myself? What is there to do?
If you want European or American tourists to come to your Iran you'll have to do some advertising to convince them that they won't be persecuted by the Mullah's Moral Police Squad, and convince them that there isn't any such thing.

Why would anyone want to go to Iran? The way women are treated over there, I stay away as far as I can. And it's a bit too close to the hot beds of trouble right now. Keep your Iran.........I'm travelling elsewhere.

I'm American and I just wouldn't feel safe there.
General feeling based on what محمود احمدی نژاد (Mahmoud Ahmadinejad) says:
Iran = anti-Israel, pro-Islam = Anti-America
America = pro-Israel, anti-Islam = Anti-Iran
I would love to visit based on Iran's history and culture, but current political climates don't bode well.
