Never, we will have bases there forever, like in Japan and Germany.

President Bush recently said that the U.S. will be in Iraq for as long as he's President.

This is pretty sad and scary. They keep saying we're going to pull out of there, but then again they recently announced they are ready to call up the Reserve, due to the fact that they need more security.

So many errors have been made there. We'll probably be in there until sometime in 2010, maybe longer. After all, even a phased pullout will take some time. Sometimes I really wish that the U.S. Government cared as much about America as they do about Iraq.

A stable post-Saddam Iraq had been promised by Bush and that seems far away given the anarchy that prevails. Abandoning an Iraq that is unstable will hit US's self-belief (or illusion?) of a responsible super-power.
So, the US will be around in Iraq for quite some time.

Everything comes to an end. Pressures on Bush, Vox-populii in US, World opinion, US Budget ..... so many factors will play. Nothing is static and who would have believed that Taliban & Iraq rulers will have this fate? One should always pray for a world committed to peaceful coexistence and prosperity for all.

Why is everyone wanting out of Iraq so badly? Clinton sent us into Kosovo ELEVEN years ago to fight a war. We're still there. He promised us we'd be out quickly, then changed his tune when things started going bad. Why didn't anyone whine about that? (Oh, that's right, Clinton's a Demoncrat!)

I do not see how it is possible at this point. No matter who is elected they will see that if we leave the whole region will destabilize if we pull out. It would have been possible to exit if mistakes in the original planning were not made . Rumsfeld unfortunately is the wrong guy to have been heading this thing up even though some of his ideas are very progressive. Whether you think we should have gone in or not we are their to stay.

When the Americans will give a serious message to Bush that 'no more dead-bodies'.
Bush has otherwise made it an ego issue especially when he has nothing at stake being not eligible for next term.
