Amen, Christians need to open up to fact based science, there is more proof every day that everything in our unvierse points toward a very intelligent creator, the alternative is to believe a bomb blast in a scrap yard produced a fueled up and ready to flay boeing 767

That is selective interpretation. You take those passages as references to those things. If you take an objective look at it, they are most certainly not. *sigh* I'm really getting tired of people doing this. If you can prove something new, something that is completely unknown, using only the bible, make a claim with nothing supporting it but the bible...if it turns out to be true, I'll consider the possibility you put forth, here.

Justmyopinion - Another commonly used argument, that is completely mistaken. The argument not only oversimplifies, it assumes human life to have been designed beforehand, as we know the jet you refer to was designed. By what standard are we too complex to have come about by chance?

JoeFunSmith makes a good point, as well. It's great the way you point to things in the bible that vaguely sound as though they refer to modern knowledge, and claim that they do, yet you choose to ignore the much more plentiful ridiculous statements. Selective reading, too. Thumbs up for you, Joe!

Matthew 4
Jesus tempted by satan on top of a mountain so high, all the kingdoms of earth could be seen.

Due to the curvature of the earth, China, Rome and Maya could not have been seen from a single mountain, no matter how high.

Do you believe in a young earth based on the Bible? If so, explain why the Egyptians have an unbroken written history that predates Noah's flood. Shouldn't they have died off in the flood?

Bible not always agree with science.

Job 26:7 (New King James Version)
7 He stretches out the north over empty space;
He hangs the earth on nothing.

Christians go to school 12 years, some of them on to college,
They study evolution, learn it, they do not study or learn the bible no matter how much they say they do. They research things which the bible can not explain like science projects, study electricity, ect. accept it yet claim just the opposite,
it is an environment they were born into
were they born in an islam country they would beleive different
it's a fear of the unknown of death.

i'm not a Catholic(and that i be responsive to many Catholics who disagree with what i'm approximately to assert) yet i think the valid stand that the Catholic church takes on technological information is that theories like the huge Bang and the assumption of Evolution are seen to be certainty and the church has no agency attempting to refute them. they have interior the previous, yet so a techniques as i be responsive to they have presently frequently used the authority of technological information while it is composed of particularly scientific concerns. so a techniques as i be responsive to they're the sole mainstream Christian denomination that does settle for those issues. somebody above published that a "concept" is defined as an informed wager. that ought to be the case in layman's words. yet interior the scientific community a "concept" is the closest ingredient we are able to come to a longtime verifiable certainty. people could understand why those theories are seen certainty if fundies could actually permit instructors practice them right.

Well, science and religion can go hand in hand. Many great scientists were inspired by religion to discover new things.

However, the Bible is only as scientifically accurate as those people's beliefs were who wrote it thousands of years ago.

Your link is not very persuasive and seems to be common Christian propaganda to those who don't understand modern science. If the Bible predicted quantum physics, then I would see your point.

Who said science is damned by Christians? Christians should learn science. The science of nutrition and chemistry mainly. This does not mean of course we should get a degree.

Christians don't believe in macro-evolution. Dont get macro-evolution mixed up with science, one is actually a belief (evolution).
