Clearly, the story doesn't add up...

How CAN a god, as described in the bible, exist???"

Firstly, the supposed god is all knowing and all powerful...

This has quite a few implications...

Because he is supposed to know everything, he must also know the future. If he created the universe, and everything in it, knowing the outcome of everything the whole time, then EVERYTHING bad that's ever happened, HE meant to happen. Also, because he knows the future, and because each of us were supposedly made by him, he would also have known every one of OUR futures before he made us too. If our futures are known, meaning that they can't turn out any other way, then how is it possible that we have FREE WILL??? Also, since he would know all of our futures before we are even made, each time someone goes to, "hell," god MEANT for him to do that... That would make god evil...

There can be no such god as described in the bible... The very definition of that god contradicts itself...

Besides all the other contradictions in the bible...

Here's a list of some, and there are thousands more...

AC 16:6 The Holy Spirit forbids preaching in Asia.
AC 19:8-10 Paul preaches in Asia anyway.

Have you seen some of the really complex, crazy, good movies people have made? Humans were able to think that up and first wrote those stories. Trust me, creative minds can come up with most anything they can imagine. And is even easier if they were just writing about history of things that happened in their world in their time, and likely added some fanciful pieces to it like most cultures did with their stories and history.

Well it's hard for either of us to believe the world was created in 7 days alone with the universe(and we know better.)
It's even harder to believe in the talking snake with his bad apple story. and talk about Norah and his ark going all over the world to collect animals when his world was about 20 square miles if that.
The story originated with the Jews. Than the Romans collaborated on it and created Christianity. it's that simple.

If you read *any* holy scripture from *any* religion and consider it for metaphoric value then it will seem to hold truth.

Do you believe the Earth was created in seven days? That man was literally formed from earth and breathed life into from God? That there was global flood? That one can see the world in it's entirety when standing upon a tree? That freewill is possible when God Knows everything and created everything.

A lot of books are well written, including ones without talking snakes.

I am an agnostic--the Bible has wisdom, but contradicts itself a lot. Organized religion is about control. People want you to believe in their interpretations of the Bible, or whatever. Think for yourself, don't let Jerry Fallwell, or Osama Bin Laden, or the street preacher think for you.

If you don't believed in anything... You are like a ship or a plane without a compass! You are like a car without the driving wheel.

Is it possible? Can you go where you want to go? Come to think of it. I am a Christian.. Continue reading the Bible. Invite the Holy Spirit guide you and accept Jesus as your personal saviour and God. He will live in your heart. You will one day experience the joy and peace that this world can not give. And you too will become his witness. You yourselve will experience His Divine Love. God Bless.

if you decide to believe in god, that's your decision. i am not going to tell you it is wrong of you or try to persuade you to stay atheist. you can make your own decisions. the bible is very well written. just remember, so are many other very long works of art. the odyssey, the iliad, etc. just keep that in mind as you follow along this path. logic and reason will always be waiting for you if you choose to come back to it
