Why do some girls say that they do not want to get into a serious/physical relationship with their best guy friend because it would ruine their "friendship" with the guy!? Surely isn't that the very basis of any good relationship to be good friends for each other too? ( like the phrase "Marry your best friend" ) or is it because they are not physically attracted to the guy?

There could be a variety of different answers to this questions. Yes it could mean that they are not phsyically or otherwise attracted to the guy and maybe that is their way of letting the person down easily. It could also mean that they love the friendship so much that they fear it will be lost if the relationship doesn't work out. Think about it... how are your current relationships with your ex's? More often than not, you are not friends with them. There isn't one true explanation for that excuse but if anything, she's the only one that knows it. Good luck to you man.

Good question. I think it is because when sex gets into the mix, people get wierd and change a bit. Sometimes friendship is so wonderful, you don't want to mess it up. Some people say they don't want to ruin it because they really don't think the person is that attractive to them in that way, but sometimes it is true. To have a wonderful friend is rare and should be kept a bit on a pedestal.

It may be that they aren't attracted to the guy and want to spare his feelings. On the other hand, they may genuinely value the relationship too much to risk losing that person if they break up. It can be awkward when a friend likes you. If you don't return their feelings you have to handle it carefully or the person can get hurt and the relationship isn't the same after wards.

First thing you have to understand is that a girl has her friends and her boyfriends. They are two sepprate things a girl can hang out with many guys at once and not think of them as anything more then friends. Not saying your ugly of mean or any of that..... its just that girls keep it pretty sepprated. Second thing you have to understand is not only that they dont want to screw up the relationship they already have with you they also dont feel physicially attracted to their friends (usually). The truth is that many girls use the "well i dont want to ruin our friendship" as a front for im not sure i want to go out with you.

it's because girls value friendships and would obviously hate to see emotions get in the way of that. once you've dated your friends he will never be your friend again because you took that relationship to another leve. this is a good reason why guys and girls can't just be friends.

because if the girl really cares about her best guy friend, if u 2 have an argument, u can still be friends.
once u start dating and/or having sex, if u have an argument u might break up, and things will never be the same again even if do decide to remain friends.

it will ruin the friendship. it happend to me. once you are bf and gf with that guy you no longer really have him as only your BEST friend. he's now your bf. no they probably are attracted, it's just once you guys stop dating, you can't really be best friends anylonger because you dated before and went throught things together and it's just really weird to leave all of that behind

It's because it's much easier to milk everything out of a best friend without having to sleep with him. It's human nature, why pay when you can get it for free?
