Does anyone know how to interpret the expiration codes on the cans?

I think most newer cans have regular date codes on them, but as long as the cans are not puffy or leaking and the food insdie doesn't smell funny, don't taste it!!!!! it should be okay. When in doubt, throw it out! I will say canned goods last a while tho.

if u can see the date then it's good for up to 3 months past the expiration date as long as it's un-opened and not dented.
the date is either the month then day then year, or it is the year then the month then the day.

shelf life of canned food is at least 3 years or so.. hmmmm...
