his estate stems from a lawsuit.I have just lost my job and dont know how we are going to get through

Spend it how you see fit. You have to take care of him as well. How is going to live when he becomes of age? Get a job just like everyone else. I get sooo tired of people thinking they are supposed to hand their children everything on a silver platter. (from answers already posted) Do what you have to do. Atleast you are thinking about him. Some parents would have already spent and not given it a second thought.

How old is your son? getting a job or public assistance would be best.

If I were you I would jsut forget that you have control over his estate. ... Good Luck I hope you find a new job soon.

NO you may not. You have to get permission from a judge to be able to take money from his estate. Even then you have to pay it back. Don't rely on your sons money to pay your bills. Get out and find another job. GOOD LUCK.

You can use a portion of it for your fees as administrator but only within reasonable costs. To pay bills and rent. NO.

Well legally, it's yours as his legal guardian, but then what is he gonna live on when he becomes of age?
