Wow,
I read all those answers and no one has it right so I guess I'll have to answer.
In the passage that this comes from, the Pharisees have just accused Jesus Christ of doing all of His miracles and teachings by the power and authority of an Evil Spirit.
They were calling the Holy Spirit an Evil Spirit, thus they were committing blasphemy.
No one accidentally commits this sin. They have to set out to not only deny Christ but to say that anything having to do with Christ and His followers is the result of an Evil Spirit.
Remember in John, chapter 9, the passages of the blind man that was cured then brought before the elders in the temple to explain what happened. They, the Pharisees said that they did not know where Jesus was from. The blind man that was cured basically mocked them saying that since the foundation of the world no man has cured someone that was born blind and yet they do not know where this man came from. He the blind man basically knew and stated that He came from God because only a man that came from God could do such things. But the Pharisees and the Elders would rather reject the obvious truth and embrace Satan's lie.

The Unforgivable Sin

Matthew 12:32 Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, neither in this world, nor in that which is to come.

This unforgivable sin against the Holy Spirit may also be spoken of in Hebrews 6:4-6 and 1John 5:16. which also speak of unforgivable sins.

Although applied even to "Christians", it appears this has to do with the mode of leading one to saving faith in Christ. And thus references to such "Christians" who commit this sin were "Christians" only nominally so on the road to salvation. Nonetheless this is something Christians should be concerned about. For how do you know whether you have been born of God if indeed your behavior indicates otherwise. (2Cor 13:5) The Holy Spirit is what convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and the judgment to come. (John 16:8) And the Holy Spirit often works through other Christians to do so. Rejecting the leading of the Spirit, reckoning him to be an evil spirit, or otherwise rejecting him cuts off access to God. And while Christ provides a bridge between man and God, such a person suddenly cut off has no way to find the bridge. One can reject Christ and yet through the conviction of the Holy Spirit be led to Christ later on. But in rejecting the Holy Spirit's leading there is no mechanism in place to restore such leading again.

In the last days there will be some (144000) that are filled with the holy spirit.
they will be hated by the world.
When one of these are brought before the authorities, they are to open there mouths and let the holy spirit speak!

To not allow the holy spirit to speak, is to blasphemy the spirit, and it is the unforgivable sin!

The bible says that if you commit blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, you are in danger of hell fire. Not, your going straight to hell. The word says you can blaspheme Christ but if you blaspeme the Holy Spirit its unforgivable. The unpardinable sin (blasphemy of the Holy Spirit) is aginst Him not Christ. If an unsaved person rejects the Holy Spirit, or go aginst Him, like when He convicts us to be saved, they have commited the unpardinable sin. Christians cannot commit this sin of unforgivness, however we can blaspheme His name but not to the point of unforgiveness because if we could then that would make God a liar cause He said He forgave all sin. If you reject the Holy Spirit you cant be forgiven because you didnt accept the gift of Christ.

Blasphemy of the HOLY SPIRIT is an unforgivable sin.

It is found in the bible where the Pharisees accused that the miracles and good deed done by the holy spirit was the works of the devil. It really piss God off.

Why would it be unforgivable? because, when you believe that it is the works of the devil, you pretty much didn't accept Jesus as your savior. Therefore, you are not saved.

Oh, a very good question!!

Jesus said that to Pharisees. It's actually very simple to understand. God's intention is to save everyone, but those to keep rejecting God's will also reject the Holy Spirit, for the Spirit draw men to God.

So, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is rejecting God's truth and salvation in Christ Jesus. And this is the ONLY unforgivable sin. Those who keep rejecting God condemn themselves to hell fire.

The holy spirit could kiss my butt if it was real. Or other body parts. But I'll save those for Yeshua, except that he isn't real either. Dang. And I thought I was gonna get some.

Good enough example of blasphemy?

It is when God has revealed the truth to a person through his holy spirit and the person chooses to lie about the information instead of share the truth with others--thus, attempting to commit spiritual murder of the other person. God will not forgive this sin but it is the only sin that cannot be forgiven.

This is speaking bad about or mocking the work of the holy spirit,
Jesus warned the phariseas of doing this when they said what he was doing was of the devil.
