(guys) when you are checking out girls why do you stare for so long?

i'm a guy but i never understood this consept. i notice a lot of guys will check out a girl but they'll just stare at the girls butts or chest like the clothing was going disapear but only for 1 second.
why do you stare for so long? what do you expect to happen? i figure once you see her body for 1 second you prety much got the idea of her features.

i understand looking at her body when you are about to have sex (if you were with said girl) or something, you'll get more turned on. but when it was just someone off the street are you really trying to get a hard on just so you can hit the public bathrooms later?

this is a serious question. i don't understand you.

i study people. i notice pratically everything. when i notice someone do this i look at their reactions.

this question was triggered by a dishwasher at work. he went to the front of the kitchen just to check out a girl picking up the togo order then went back to the back when she left. he is someone you wouldn't want to touch with a 50 foot pole and he was checking out this good looking girl.

i also notice alot of guys checking out my female friends and it is discusting when these old guys do it.

I usually look for eye contact to get her aroused, if I check out her body I make sure she sees me doing it. Makes her curious.

You know what, its not the fact that we dont stare for long, its just that you boys, dont tend too . . . notice, as if a boy were to be starring at girls we'd more realize. & another thing that i have noticed about boys is the fact that, boys make it soo obvious, like when a girl looks at you, your still watching them down soo hard. Boys dont really play it off by looking away ever soo often you know?

I am a girl, but my perspective is that they are having a "moment" where fantasy is happening and nothing else matters. Men think of sex all the time so looking for a long time at one woman is either because there is no one else at that moment that looks better, so he better enjoy that one, or she is that amazing and he is having a private moment. It is just how guys are.

That's okay we don't understand us either. I don't stare for a long period of time. It's usually a long glance and a mental "wow!" I know what you mean though. I guess they are just taking it in while they can see it.

Some guys never learned to have the finesse you seem to lament. Maybe they didn't have fathers who taught them to be respectful of women.

Girls are actually more likely to be interested in guys with eye contact.

I sometime look a little longer only because my eye glasses are dirty and i cant see very well (Thats my story and I'm sticking to it)
