What would constitute as not being able to hold your breath for long? I can go about 30 seconds....

It means, you can't hold your breath long. A lot of people can't.

small lung capacity can be due to astmah (maybe undiagnosed) can decrease the capacity that the lungs can open for air to get in.
Could be lack of blood, severe anemia - can cause shortness of breath.
The best way to increase lung capacity - is underwater swimming (if you are of normal health). Some singers do it so they can hold notes longer and have more lung capacity.

There are two meaning of this - Firstly , You are impatient - cant you wait for a minute and Secondly you are having medical problem for which treatment is necessary.

thats right, but if you keep practicing you might be able to enlarge your lungs capacity.

You probably wouldn't make a good swimmer...but it will improve if you try to exercise more.

it does not mean you have lung cancer. It might be a respotory problem? But truly it probably doesn't matter.
