I can never feel good enough. I can't sleep at night. I feel so alone and miserable and lost. I was diagnosed with major depression about 6 years ago. It hurts. It really really hurts. It's a horrible illness and i feel like its taking over my life. I don't know what to do. I'm on 450 mg of Wellbutrin XL. I've seen several counselors without any success. I was refered to a Psychiatrist. I never seen the same psychiatrist twice though. I seen someone new everytime at an appointment with mental health and each time i had to start over. It wasn't fair. They made me feel like they just didn't care so i said screw them, i can do this on my own. But i was wrong, i can't do it alone. I don't know what to do. I hurt soooo bad and i just want to feel ok again. So many things are wrong. I don't know how to express myself very well and i have a hard time trusting people. I shield myself from society because if im alone then i know that know one can hurt me, right? I needed to get this out.

Sounds harsh. I have no experience with clinical depression, but a few quick thoughts.
First, your feelings on psychiatrists are completely understandable. Most people would feel the same thing for any sort of doctor/patient relationship where the doctor kept changing. Have tried telling them about this? I'll bet they'd be willing to work your appointments out with just one doctor.
Second, have you thought about alternatives? Try hitting up your local gym, see about getting a personal trainer. See if you can work out a deal to see the same person once or twice a week, and get some exercise. As stated above, I have no real experience with this sort of thing, but you'd get some more consistant contact with other human beings (in small numbers), and I believe exercise is generally considered to be a good thing for mental outlook. At the very least it would probably help with the sleeping bit.

The best thing to do is to find a Psychaitrist that you can trust . I dont know if you have good health insurance but you need help in dealing with this illness. I know I have the same situation along with other health problems. There are many different types of drugs to help with this situation. Just please get some kind of help and remember that you are not alone in this, there are many people that has this going on. I work at mental health and that helps me to stay on top of my illness and as soon as you find the right doctor to go to trust me it will help you. Take care and may God bless you in finding the help you need.

First of all, if you are taking medication and not feeling better, you're in desperate need of a change in your prescription. Second of all, try to get to a different psychiatric practice (clinic), and always request the same dr. They won't know you want to see the same dr every time unless you tell the scheduling secretary. Medication and therapy CAN work, but only after you find the right combination of drugs and technique. You are a valuable person, and you have a right to proper treatment, compassionate care, and consistent quality of service. This is a physical illness, too, as you so carefully described. It is a hit-or-miss journey, and you may need to try several different medications, drs an therapists before you find what really works for you. Try going to http://www.dbsa.org and look for a support group in your area.
Take care of yourself!

I'm sorry to hear that you're going through this. I know from experience what it's like. It can be difficult finding a doctor that listens, but you definitely need to get to one. It also sounds like you need to try a different anti-depressant. Not everything works for everyone. It took many, MANY trial-and-errors to figure out one that worked for me. I know it seems like nothing but a big hassle trying to get these things taken care of, but once you find a good doc and get the right medication, it will be worth it. I hope everything works out for you.

only one thing can help u, tats Jesus.. for He will filled u with His love. Try seekin Jesus, callin out to Him for help. He will come mayb not immediately but wait upon Him faithfully n patiently, He will come. perhaps also in a form of sending His people to u (in a very normal way eg, asking u to go church). Try this. :) God bless..
