At first, I thought it was a piece of food stuck between my teeth and gums, but when it wouldn't come out by itself and I'm scared to pull it out.
What is it? Is it safe to remove? Is it an infection because of the surgery?
HELP!!

Oops I'm sorry it was 13 days after surgery... and at the post-surgery check-up 4 days ago, my doctor said everything looked good. Maybe he missed this or it just started growing after?

If it is whitish or yellowish and right on or around the area where your tooth was pulled.. then it is probably where your gums are healing. It will fall out after a while by itself. It is like a scab. It is usually mushy. If it doesn't hurt then I doubt it is infection.

I would say call the office in the morning and have them look. It sounds like your mouth is just healing and everything looks wrong and feels wrong when you have a tooth extracted. Don't pull on it. Just in case it might be some of the stitches. If your in pain rinse your mouth with warm water and take some pain reliever. You shouldn't have an infection if you took your antibiotics as directed .
Good Luck I am sure it's nothing.

Go back to your oral surgeon. It may be a fragment from the tooth. If so, they can remove it very easily and painlessly. I had these and removed them myself with no problems. So did a friend of mine. It is hard to say without seeing it, better to be safe than sorry. Good luck.

Point it out to the dental expert himself that did the work. Ask him what it is, describe it, etc. See what he says or if you should go in again, and call him asap. in case it's serious. You never know. Healthy teeth and gums are important.

Years ago this happened to me. It turned out to be a tomato seed. Leave it alone and don't do anything. Make an appointment and tell the receptionist that you need to be seen immediately. I should not be painful at this point.

It may be dried blood from the surgury! It may be food, but if I were you I would go to the dentist just to be on the safe side! It won't hurt to gargle with warm salt water!

It could be the stitches. They are supposed to dissolve on their own and come out. If you aren't sure, I'd visit your dentist to be on the safe side.

It's probably a chip of tooth or bone...call your dentist and tell them...go in and get it checked.

Is it a stitch? I would leave it alone, get a pen light and see if you can visualize what it is.

Call the Oral Surgeon and go see him, we are not dentists nor surgeons and we can't see you on the Internet.
