Where does it say (in the Bible)that a sinner must first approach God needs to be pure of heart, sincere, or sorry for their sins to be saved? Alot of you folks just don't get it...
I was just trying to make the point that no matter what sin a person committs, if he or she repents with GODLY SORROW, not a person telling God they are sorry for their sins (can you name every sin you ever committed against God in order to obtain salvation?), of course not.
I know the a,b,c's of God's plan of salvation...
My point was that a sinner is a sinner....

Regarding your "question," why is there so much confusion?

Yes a sinner is a sinner and all sin is sin big or
small and no we can't remember all of our sins
that why the Lord prayer tell you to ask God to
forgive you for all you transgression also the bible
Say's every mouth shall confess and every knee
shall bow.So if you do this in Jesus name there
will be no confusion.

only a innocent child is pure of heart. a sinner can repent and ask gods forgiveness, for that is why we have the ability to know right from wrong. if we do wrong we are sinning. if we repent and still do wrong or don't change from our old ways that was a sin , then we are still sinning. your heart is in the right place. your message is just a little confusing from beginning to middle.

Oh, probably somewhere in the Old Testament, where the lamb or goat or doves were victims for the people's sins. It's in there somewhere. It even tells us how priests should dress and how many tassels ought to be on their garments. Its all there, somewhere. Read some more.

Who then is the author of confusion.
1 Cor 14:33 for God is not a God of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.
So if it isn't God who is it???
One guess.

There is no confusion. If you repent for your past wrong deeds and refrain from sin and if you take God to you heart you are saved or salvation attained. Can you do it?

USBaptist,
I think that they heard it somewhere. I don't know!

The Muslims are a good example of doing it all on their own. They don't have a god, but they expect things out of him. Since they don't see anything happening, they do it all on their own.

I think that it's the same with people thinking that they know what to do. They heard it from someone else, they really don't expect God to do anything, but they are willing to go through the ritual, thinking that that's what they have to do to be a "Good Person."

(What to wear? Tassles? What is she on about?)

One can name the sins one remembers, and add that there have been others.

You cannot see the forest for the trees mate.
I truly feel sorry for you.
Just please don't make the situation worse by passing yourself off as a Christian in public, as it makes us normal Christians who are doing what we can have a harder job.

False guilt is no help, nor is preaching up sin.
