Have your veterinarian check your dog to be sure it is old enough & that it has no major health issues, & then have the dog spayed or neutered. This is usually a problem that un-neutered male dogs have, but I have heard of some un-spayed female dogs donig it, too. So, the first & best thing is to get the dog neutered or spayed. It sometimes takes a while to break the habit even after the surgery, because there are still some hormonal changes going on for a little while after surgery, & also because dogs are creatures of habit. BESIDES making sure the dog is fixed, you can keep a leash on the dog when visitors are around, & every time the dog even starts to go after anyone's leg, you or another responsible person can pull on the leash, pull the dog away, & tell the dog "NO" or "OFF" or some other command that will be used CONSISTENTLY EACH TIME, in a firm voice. Also, tell your family members & guests not to laugh at the dog, play with the dog, feed it any treats, or move around rapidly when it tries to hump. Explain that you are in the process of training your dog to stop this habit, & that you would appreciate it if they would tell the dog "NO" or "OFF" very firmly, & push the dog away if it tries to mount or hump. If the dog is already neutered or spayed, is mature, you have already tried the leash & command method, & the dog still humps, then it is a behavioral problem. The dog should be checked by a vet, & will benefit from more exercise & obedience training, which will tire it out & teach it to respect people & obey commands, both of which will cut down on the humping & other undesirable habits. Using a water gun, an electronic training collar, or shaking a loud empty soda can full of coins to distract the dog will help to get the dog's attention & get it off of people. The next step is to train the dog what it should do instead, something like going to its crate or rug & lying down, sitting & staying on command, etc., that the dog can do whenever guests arrive. Good luck!

Keep him on a leash when you have visitors over. If he goes to hump on someone's leg give him a quick tug and say no. Then tell him to sit and when he does pet him and tell him he's a good dog. You are correcting the bad behavior and rewarding the good behavior.
Best of luck to you.

getting your dog spayed or nutered is a very good idea if your not wanting to bread. But it depends on the age of the dog. If he's too young I would try a water gun until he is of age. Having a pet fixed before the are physically ready can alter their personality and the way they grow. If he likes water I would use something that he doesn't like. A type of noise, or a time out away from the family.
My dog Zoe use to the same thing when she was young. Yes, I said SHE. But she actaully grew out of it. She only did it a couple of times, and she was scolled when she did it. But she's never been fixed. She only did it during her first couple of "heat" periods.
i hope this helps.

I have heard that getting your dog fixed will stop this. Also, you could try putting your dog on a leash when there are visitors around and use simple commands like sit and stay. Good Luck to you.

A shock collar will get very good results.
You can also remember to reward teh dog when he gets off the leg. Push him down with a hard knee to the chest. Don't yell or punish teh dog, and don't hurt him. Just knee him hard enough that it is unpleasant. Tell him what a good boy he is when he finally gets down. Immediately after you correct him.
The shock collar is good too. Shock him when he jumps up a few dozen times and that will be that.

Too funny. It really depends on the breed of the animal. From what I have seen, beagles do not do that. There are some that say it's male dominance. Not true. It is a horny male is all. We used a stuffed lamb, about the size of our pom to solve the problem. He fell in love with that lamb, and was all depressed when it had to get washed and dried.

get him fixed is the best idea and also u have to train him not to. take the 2 seconds when they arrive and before he trys to hump go ppppshhhh or make some kinda strong noise to let him know its not ok. and u correct him by pulling him off and making him submit and go away. this is going to take time and lots of practice but eventually your dog wont do that when u become assertive.

A Coke can filled with a few pennies shaken at the moment BEFORE he starts humping. It scares them a little and creates a negative association. It is best if they don't see you shake the can.

YA cut his nutsies off..thats the answer to every behavioral broblem.
Why don't you try training him not to do it.. Start by a firm NO followed by a squirt of water in his face with another NO! Neutering does not always stop them from behaving like males
