yes, it does. Any heat you apply to your hair is going to damage it and straitening it or curling it does a lot of damage especially if you do it everyday. I would use your shampoo and cond. then put in a leave-in cond. before you blow dry. Matrix also makes a product called sleek iron smoother and it will help protect your hair. If you can...try only washing and straitening every other day to cut down on the heat you apply to your hair.

I think your question has been answered quite adequately here, but there's one point I'd like to make -- curly hair is beautiful! You may not think so because you see it in the mirror every day but try some styles with your curls, maybe even a different cut. You may find ways to love the hair you were born with and be able to give the super-hot straightening iron a break sometimes.

YES any type of thermal styling will damage your hair, not to mention while you're running the iron through your hair you're stretching it so eventually it will lose it's elasticity. Try not to wash your hair every day(it dries your hair out anyways) so that way you wont have to iron it every day. You should also give yourself a good deep conditioning treatment at least once a month to help promote good hair health.

Yes, your hair can get damaged. It would be better if you could go in for permanent straightening which lasts for months.

Of course straigtening your hair damages it. The heat level of the iron is extremely high and not healthy for your hair. If you do straighten your hair often, condition it well, and trim the dead ends if they develop.
Happy Straightening :D

It actually helps with breakage because it smooths out the cutical on your hair. The heat will dry out your hair over the long term so make sure you add a conditioner that will protect it from the heat.

Yes, the heat will damage your hair but there are shampoos that are made just for this! Try ThermaSilk for some shampoo and conditioner like that.
