If you read the story of abraham specifically when he went to sacrifice issac, that whole scenario was a picture of God sacrificing His Son. Abraham named that mountain after God cause around 2000 years later Christ would die on the same mountain. Abraham was in the hall of faith in hebrews 11. The sacrifices in the old testiment are also pictures of Christs' death because that was the only way for their sin to be forgiven. When the Israelites camped for the night they camped in the form of a cross. The old testiment saints looked forward to the cross just as we look back to it for salvation. Hebrews has several little answers in their and all these are interesting studies if you really want to know the truth.

You ask a lot!
It is only hinted at in the bible. (Luke 16)
But first
Elijah and Moses went to Paradise on there own, there may have been about 5 or so that did!
Paradise is heaven!
all others went to hell, but hell is divided into 2 parts. One part is the lap of Abraham, the other separated by a gulf.
The lap of Abraham was for those who lived in the law, and believed there would be a savior!
The other side mostly did not live in the law and did not know of the savior.
When Christ died he went to Hell!
Now the lap of Abraham is empty!

Jesus is returning. That is the focus of your question.
Let start with your quote John 3:1-22. What is the truth that Jesus talks about? Is it about the resurrection? No. It is telling you the way to get to the Kingdom of God. Baptism by water and spirit. Man is body, soul, and spirit.
But what the resurrection? (Matthew 22:23-33; Mark 12:18-27; Luke 20:27-40) There are may more verses, but these three verses best.

All the prophets since the beginning of time have prophecied and testified of Jesus christ, the Redeemer of the world who cane into the world that he may save all men if they will hearken unto his voice. He suffered the pains of all men, yea, the pains of every living creature, both men, women, and children, who belong to the family of Adam. That would Abraham too. Even when God tested Abraham to sacrifice his only son Isaac, it was to teach him of the Only Begotten Son of God who would come to save everyone from sin. Atonement of Jesus Christ is infinite and surpasses all understanding.
Gal. 3: 14, 16, 29
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
• • •
16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
• • •
29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

The patriarchs, prophets, and regular Jews of the Old Testament looked forward to the Messiah, whereas we look back to Him. Just as we must trust that He came and saved us, they had to trust that He would come and save them, as foretold all throughout the Old Testament, from the time of Adam. No time period was completely without the Good News (in past tense, the Good Hope, because it hadn't happened yet).
Abraham clearly demonstrated his faith, even showing his willingness to sacrifice his own son just as God would do in the New Testament. He is also listed in the 'hall of faith' of James, in the New Testament. He was the father of many children: Jews and Christians. Abraham was definitely saved.

According to Christian faith it is also possible that ANYONE can be saved if God wanted (he can do whatever he wants) or if the person is a good one (why not save him).
There are other paths to God other than Christianity... but Christians say that their paths is the most straight direct! That's the only difference.
Hope this makes it clear for you if not ask to a priest he will tell you this.
If you liked this answer choose it as best!

Interesting question. I'm glad I'm not a christian and believe in your ridiculous notions!!
You guys make God into this unmerciful, unloving, mean, hateful and angry beast that is ready to throw everyone into hell. it amazes me that you don't wake up and realize that you follow a made-up, deceitful and false faith. it's only because your preachers are so good at speaking and making you believe whatever they tell you... kind of like Hitler did with the Nazis... he was a good speaker and everyone believed him.
The fact is, Christianity is the most false religion and belief system that has ever existed in history. You are comprised of almost 2 billion misguided people who have not discovered God or the correct belief system.
May God have mercy on your souls.

Yes. If you read thoroughly the works of Paul, mainly, Romans, you will find his outline of salvation for the Jews. God had a covenant with the Jews, and God is faithful.

yes, read hebrews...
.....and the best example i can think of is when David wrote the psalms and talked about God and how he knew his salvation was in God alone, he was looking ahead to the provision God was going to make through Jesus. in fact, references to Jesus's coming can be found in several places in the psalms as well as all over the old testament. the sacrifices and rituals made in the old testament were all directing the people to faith in sacrificial atonement. the people had to believe that God would see them as clean through the sprinkling of blood. read the mosaic books as well.

Jews were Gods chosen people until Christ's death. When Jews sacrificed animals they were showing God that they were repenting their sins and showing by taking the best of their flock and killing it in the name of God. Assuring them life in heaven. Or something close to that
