What is so GREAT about it?? I went to it and found it didnt cover much at all. Nice stories that bloke talked about. a couple of my friends even run the course. Nice food, chat, doesnt really answer any real questions. doesnt even answer any questions that appear here on Yahoo Answers. Is the Alpha Course really geared towards christianized people not at church anymore, but not meant to answer any questions? or what

Ah...this is something that is run by churches as something of a refresher course on Christianity. Also seems to be an information seminar for seekers, as well...
Well, if you didn't get much out of it, could be that you weren't interested in it to begin with. I tried to keep my eyes open in college, when taking Boolean algebra (I was a music major, not studying CS at the time.) I never thought that I'd use it...until I went into networking after a 12 year stint as a Navy musician and nearly 20 years after I left college. Little did I realize that this course prepared me for IP subnetting, an essential skill in networking...
You never know...

Alpha's really a hit becasue it's reaching a lot of people where they are - mostly people who are not Christians or are new Christians. Hope that helps - Purpose Driven Life is cool too -
Also - if it's not answering your questions and you've gone there - try asking one of the pastors directly about your concerns.
and B-Nizzle - it does share the gospel - have you listened to Alpha or watched the course - They fully talk about the reality of God and knowing Jesus as your savior. Peace.

I think it is supposed to be geared toward people who really don't know very much about Christianity and are interested in learning the basics.
I've never been though. This is just what I have heard second-hand. I do think it is cool that it is truly ecumenical and offered by many different churches, Catholic and Protestant.

It looks like a commercial site. No specifics on their teachings. Mutli week course includes dinner. No cost but donation.

It is a contemporary approach to touch on current issues and share the gospel at the same time to the unintiated.
It is not to be feared, plus it could be worth your time, depending what you have to do to get there to hear the program.
