I think so. I used to watch shows and stuff about it, and with the information I gather, you're born that way. But I guess the best person to ask would be a gay person, so I can't really answer correctly.
But honestly, do you think some people would have such a hard time coming to terms with it and spend so much of their lives rejecting it and being rejected FOR it, if it were a choice?

No. There is no evidence that same gender attraction is genetic and some evidence that it is not. It is obvious to me that it is caused by a problem in the normal psycho-sexual development in a child. Normally a boy identifies with and models on, his father. He loves his mother and she loves him in return.
If a boy has a father that is so bad that the boy cannot model on him, he may model on his mother. If there is no father or positive male role model, that can cause problems. Also if the boy's mother is abusive or overly critical of the boy, he might become so afraid of women that he can't see any female as sexually attractive at a very deep level.
I have known a number of homosexual men, lesbian woman, and their family history. In every case, this scenario fits. I have also known many men and women where these family problems were not so severe to cause same gender sexual attraction but the female had some masculine qualities and the male has some female ones.
Unfortunately this does not fit the political desires of strong lobbys. Everyone wants to believe that there is nothing wrong with their behavior, there is nothing wrong with them, and wants other people to think that also.

Being homosexual is not a choice. People are born with a predisposition toward homosexuality - a sexual attraction to people of the same sex. Acting on that sexual orientation is a choice, however. Of course, you can choose to remain miserably in the closet, never allowing yourself the happiness of the same-sex relationship that you need to be psychologically healthy, just to satisfy parental or societal expectations, OR you can choose to be true to yourself and to be happily gay. That is your choice.

No. The vast majority of gay men will admit a distant or cold relationship with their father. Almost all homosexuals have dysfunction in their childhood. Homosexuality is usually a response to a lot of pain that has not found a healthy resolution.

I think they are. My reasoning is that I liked boys my whole life, even in preschool. No one had to train me to like them. I just knew I did. I think people are just born being attracted to one sex or the other.

I tend to think they are. I have had many gay friends. As one explained to me......"What do people think...we wake up in the morning and say - gee, I think i'll turn gay today!"
