Hot chocolate usually has my spouse asleep within half an hour.

Some classical music can put me to sleep, but don't use Mozart!
Brahms and Bach have some pleasant works that will lull you to sleep. (Find the classical station on the radio and play it quietly.)

Well.....I'm a massage therapist internist (I'm doing my inter-ship and almost done!!!) Anyway. There are a lot of things that you can do to make you sleepy. First, of all make sure your eating a good well balanced meal atleast 2 to 3 hours before going to bed. Make sure your getting enough exercise or that your active through out your day. Try walking down stairs instead of using an elevator. Try soaking in a nice warm bath with bubbles or bath salts. Try using aromatherapy. Lavender is my favorite. You can get rm. and linen spray's, lotion and body wash in a aromatherapy scent's. Bath and body works has a nice collection of aromatherapy. Target has a new line of aromatherapy also. The sound of water is very relaxing. There are tapes and Cd's you can buy with the sounds of water and birds chirping. I personally like fountains. You could get a couple or one big one to put in your rm. And it is a nice accent to any rm. Good Luck and I hope you sleep tight!!!!

Sometimes warm milk does the trick for me, warm baths, and I can't sleep unless I know what's going on the next day--I have to have my "schedule" or I go nuts thinking about what I'm going to do, and in what order. I can't fall asleep to the sound of any kind of music, but I turn my fan on every night to block out any noise that may distract my sweet slumber.

classical or something soft like sarahMcClaughlin, or coldplay. although i found that if i know the words to the song- i sorta stay up to hear the song... so classical is better. or some warm milk, or bath, get a soft blanket that makes you want to snuggle into it. maybe a really boring movie or show, and put a timer on the tv to turn off.

Soft, gentle music, instrumental or if vocal, some language you don't understand, to begin with! Flute, piano, guitar recommended: not so much violin which tends to screech! If drums accompanying, it should be soft, with regular, not jarring beats! So also Bells! as for other aid to sleeping, warm water bath one hour before bed, and warm milk with honey, will help: and, light colour sheets and pillow covers with pleasant patterns on them!

Hey There,
I used to have a hard time getting to sleep, but I bought one of those relaxation cd's that has the sound of rain and thunderstorms, whalesong, crickets, etc.... I put that on the stereo and I'm out like a light. I don't remember where I got it, but I think Wal-Mart and Hobby Lobby has them.... Good Luck

A Solitudes CD works for me - sounds of nature, with soft, gentle music - I put it on repeat and it plays all night. Also, I find that dealing with the problems that are keeping me awake helps a lot. When something is on my mind bothering me, I add it to my "to do" list with ideas on how to deal with it and then meditate to let it go. Good Luck to you! :-)

it feels bad when one try to sleep and you just cannot ! most of the time i am like that. What i do these days, do a lot of stretch excercises etc, to just make me tired enough to want to fall asleep, (that is before my nightly tredmill run, and a nice bath), then i put on gospel music....off to dreamland. !
